Re: Sonoma 14.4 crash/kernel panic/reboot with Kontakt 7
NI are off the hook this time. Using the Sonoma 14.5 beta Kontakt 7.90 with DP11.3.1 is fixed, no kernel panic crash if two monitors are hooked up and you even look at the GUI. Testing Reaper 7, it's also not crashing. So this was obviously an OS issue, glad Apple got on it, glad I got the beta, an...

Re: Sonoma 14.4 crash/kernel panic/reboot with Kontakt 7
Interesting. . . The Native-Instruments website now lists Kontakt 7 as compatible with the Sonoma macOS, after its most recent update. Unfortunately, Kontakt 7 still crashes DP 11 AND my new M2 Mac Studio (that came housed with Sonoma). So far, the work-around, that seems stable for me, is using Kon...

Re: consolidating onto new Mac Pro from old Mac Pro plus 3 Windows PCs -- your opinion on VE Pro settings
Hi John - My largest VEPro templet has three "Instances", each housing 15 - 20 Virtual Instruments (VIs). Each Instance is configured to handle 8 MIDI Ports, and 56 Audio Outputs. The VIs used are from a rather wide variety of companies including VSL (using Vienna Instruments Pro), Native-...

Re: Sonoma 14.4 crash/kernel panic/reboot with Kontakt 7
I experienced a similar crash after updated to Sonoma 14.4. I acted impuslively when updating the Mac Studio's OS. Ugh! :banghead: Interestingly Kontakt 6 seems to work just fine. Also, since updating the freakin' OS, Logic Pro doesn't like many of VSL's IVs (including Vienna Instruments Pro and Vie...

Re: Problem between VSL's VEPro 7 and Vienna Instruments Pro on an M1 MacBook Pro w/ Ventura 13.6.3
Well. . . The issue seems to be fixed now. After deleting and re-installing both VE Pro 7 and Vienna Instruments Pro, all is working as it should. What seemed to fix the problem is re-scanning the effects and VI plug-ins from within VE Pro 7. I am happy to say that tech support from VSL was very res...

Problem between VSL's VEPro 7 and Vienna Instruments Pro on an M1 MacBook Pro w/ Ventura 13.6.3 RESOLVED
Hello - I'm in the process of migrating my music projects from an Intel-based iMac Pro computer to a "newer" Silicon-based M1 Max MacBook Pro computer. (Both computers have the Ventura 13.6.3 macOS.) Overall, the transition has been uneventful but with one significant exception. I "ho...

FYI - VSL's MIR Pro presently not compatible with macOS Monterey
After doing some research, I thought it was safe to (finally) upgrade to Apple's Monterey operating system. All is well except for one significant software program: VSL's MIR Pro. This incompatibility is confirmed by VSL. MIR Pro does work well within VSL's VePro 7, but not as a stand-alone program....

2021 Holiday Video
Hello - I hope all are having a pleasant Holiday Season! For the past few years, my wife and I have been creating Holiday Videos for our family and friends. Without a doubt, they won't be winning any Oscars or Grammy awards! BUT, they are a lot of fun to create. Our family and friends seem to enjoy ...

Re: DP11 is here!
So far, so good! DP 11 is working fine for my modest needs. I have a few larger orchestral templets that are "housed" using VSL's VEPro 7. DP 11 interfaces with these templets using VEPro 7 without issue. A nice and welcomed surprise is that DP 10 remains in my application folder unaffecte...

Frustrating issue with a wireless (on-camera) Sennheiser system
Hello - I own a couple of wireless (on-camera) Sennheiser lavaliere systems. The specific model is the Sennheiser EW 112P "Camera-Mount' wireless system (A: 516 to 558 MHz). They're used on Panasonic GH5 cameras in a dedicated video-recording "Green Room", set up to record my wife's c...

New Composition with Video
Hi - To be honest, I'm reluctant to share this because. . . well. . . most of you are Pros, and I'm just a hack hobbyist who likes to compose (whenever I make the time to write music). This is a video of our Spring vacation that we took. . . while staying home. We live near the Berkshire and Catskil...

Re: Seeking Advice in Choosing New Apple Computer
Follow-Up - Well. . . I ended up purchasing an iMac Pro with 64 GB RAM and the better 16 GB graphics card. It has four native Thunderbolt 3 inputs. . . and all are used with external SSD drives. It came a couple of days ago. I am STILL loading up my VI libraries. . . and purchased a couple of new on...

Re: Seeking Advice in Choosing New Apple Computer
Thank you, both, for the thoughtful replies. . . Regarding VSL's "Synchronized" Special Edition VIs, I will do some research on them as suggested. The two computers, the iMac (with i9 processor) and the MacBook Pro, that I am considering have the i9 8-core processors. I was looking to purc...

Seeking Advice in Choosing New Apple Computer
Hello - Hope all are safe and sound, and remain safe and sound, throughout this dreadful pandemic. First, please note the specifications of my trusty, old 2009/2010 Mac Pro computer below. As you can see, although it has served me well throughout recent years, it's beginning to show signs of its age...
