Re: Resurrection Time.

Got fogged over which card to stick in this Dell. Should it be the PIC424 or the PCIe424 ?
My reading leads me to believe it's the PCI424 and I'm famous for getting it wrong.
Any help out there ?

Re: Resurrection Time.

Thanks Mike,
I had headaches with PL that I couldn't resolve. Old age might have been working against me.
Do you have an opinion on the Dell 7010 ?

Resurrection Time.

I am returning to the Motu world where I had some fun a few (12) years ago with Audiodesk. I want to get back to a usable set up starting with a 2408 mk3, a Tascam WR-DA7 and I need to pick up a Wndows 7 computer to run Audio desk. I have my eyes on a Dell Optiflex 7010 with an i7 3.5GHz chip in it....

Re: Audiodesk Bailout.

Thanks Mike, great to feel not so alone here. AD 3-02 is onboard and THAT MANUAL is the item of extreme torture. Probably a good idea for me to go back to the beginning and see if I can reboot my brain to the weirdness. I did it once. Prolly me jumping into the books to go editing, looping and all t...

Audiodesk Bailout.

Sorry if this is in the wrong spot but I can't find where on this site that I might find some guidance for Audiodesk operations. I have a 2408 km3, G5 running 10.5.8 and a Ramsa DA7 and Audiodesk. I took a while to figure out how to make the parts communicate some years ago and I eventually did some...

Re: Hybrid studios with MOTU gear: does anyone use a mixer?

Hullo Bill, I'm fresh in this racket and have been plodding along on the DA7/2408/G5 thread. Right now, I'm bringing tracks into the DA7 and fudging with an SPX90 and a couple of disgusting noise boxes. Does get me a little tactility but no way near able to dance on the knobs like I used to BITD !! ...

Re: DA7/Motu 2408/G5 set up guidance please.

Hullo Helit and everybody, all my headaches are being resolved with persistence. I am having a great time now jumping around the DA7 'patch bay' and getting Audiodesk to reveal its secrets. This digital world is amazing and I'm glad to have found my way at last. I know I was a little whiney earlier,...

Re: DA7/Motu 2408/G5 set up guidance please.

No sweat James, these sites are never entitlement zones. One just never knows how deep one can get in positive feedback. This one just didn't kick in for me. Observation from a couple of other "passion" sites is there's 5% good feedback vs the rest is bland one liners of vapid opinion. One...

Re: DA7/Motu 2408/G5 set up guidance please.

Thanks Mike, strangely enough, that's what I've come to discover. It was a great adventure indeed. Wonderful sight seeing all the little lights on the 2408 dancing around. I know it's difficult for people to look into my mind and give straight up answers to my questions, I have a hard enough time li...

Re: DA7/Motu 2408/G5 set up guidance please.

Thanks for 'all the help' here. Really guided me well. And for my next joke.................. Time passes and I overcome the problems one by one. Now have tracks moving along quite nicely. Playback thru DA7 is superb, sounds great and gives a tad of analog grope factor. DA7 patch bay is still a pig ...

Re: DA7/Motu 2408/G5 set up guidance please.

Got the Motu dumping track on Audiodesk and playing back via the Motu OP. Hooked the DA7 back up; got playback of the stereo pair but can't figure the 4 tracks parked on the Audiodesk. Also suffering brainfade trying to get a mic thru the DA7-2408 and onto Audiodesk. Anyone have a decoder ring for t...

Re: DA7/Motu 2408/G5 set up guidance please.

Health back on track, thank goodness. Now installed Leopard and have got past the privilege thing. Manual is 290 pages for Audiodesk !! Work gets in the way, 10 hour days of heavy industrial brain damage makes any more reading at the end of the day a bit of a pain. The DA7 is a pretty good digital m...
