Re: Need more I/O to run Hardware Insert, correct?

Ahh yes, I had thought initially it was possible but wasn't seeing the various outputs as options when briefly looking earlier. I fiddled a bit more and got it working. Thanks for the confirmation.

Need more I/O to run Hardware Insert, correct?

I just updated my system to DP9 (from DP7) and wanted to try the hardware insert plugin, however I'm using an Audio Express and from what I can see - the unit really only offers a single pair of outs (MAIN 1-2) despite offering a few various physical connections. Is my understanding correct that I'd...

Re: Using VNC and an ad hoc wifi network

On the Mini, start by going to the airport menu, and select CREATE NETWORK... Establish a network name and password - then you can join that network on the iPad. Routerless connection to your mini. Should get you started. Then you need to hit SHARING control panel on the mini and make sure SCREEN SH...

Re: how to rack mount UltraLite mk3 Hybrid

I racked my audio express to a standard empty shelf, shared with on older lxp1 (also 1/2 rack width) I used the motu adaptor on one side of the unit to screw into the rails. So one side mounted, thats it.

Re: Cheap monitor for DAW

At my day job we've had good luck with LG monitors. They come standard with 3-yr. warranties. You might want to consider what the standard warranty coverage is, some brands only give you 1 year.

Re: The following required fonts are missing

Wow that's a lot of Verdanas! I happen to have a machine at my disposal with a fresh install of Lion on it. I looked at all the font locations, Verdana only exists in Library/Fonts. And, the font family is only comprised of 4 files.... Verdana Bold Italic.ttf Verdana Bold.ttf Verdana Italic.ttf Verd...

Kernel Panic on 2008 non unibody MBP

That was me Nibiru. I can't say anything about TekServe other than I know they have been an apple service provider for a long time. Never used them myself.

Re: Kernel Panic on 2008 non unibody MBP

Kernel panics are generally resultant of hardware issues. That is just mis-information. Surely, hardware can be one cause, but in most experiences I've seen and heard of, it is software. Don't believe everything you think. http://guides.macrumors.com/Kernel_panic A clean install of the OS and all p...

Re: Kernel Panic on 2008 non unibody MBP

Well, if it's happening on boot (during boot?) you can rule out software. Kernel panics are generally resultant of hardware issues. Difficult to track down though sometimes, but typically the last added hardware is where you start looking. In your case, the logic board. Have you let the repair shop ...

The following required fonts are missing

Having multiple versions/copies of fonts on the system can wreak havoc. I used to support a mac based graphics team in a publishing house and quickly despised the helvetica family of fonts. Lots of troubleshooting was done to determine which versions played nice together, stupid thing is they all lo...

The following required fonts are missing

Fonts are in: System/library/fonts Library/fonts ~/library/fonts If its in either of those locations it should be fine but that's a standard font for the OS so I think you'd find it in the System location? As you know it's already installed, try deleting the font cache. The system may just not reali...

Re: Shoulder pain, bad studio set up?

sounds like unnatural positioning. You have to reach to use the mouse correct? as a rule of thumb for playing piano, period - I like to have it low enough (not crazy low) where my wrist is below my elbow. I'd been told at some point that is good for circulation and preventing carpal tunnel. The same...
