Re: Should I buy QuickTime PRO?

yo Jim, I use AE ALL the time (main video toy) - are you talking about forums on CreativeCow, or...? I am just about to make the plunge and move from 10.3.9, DP 4.12, up to 10.4.X, DP 4.5/6 and QT7 pro... if this breaks AE (I have AE 6.0/pro), I will be in big trouble! I used the so-called down-grad...

Re: Multichannel (surround) mixing on powerbook

Thanx for the links, I'll hava looksee. Yeah, I know what you mean about it being so quiet about surround here (no pun intended). The old Unicornation hada fairly active forum (post), but I dunno where those guys have got to. In terms of monitoring/mixing, I tend to live by the old Motown approach. ...

Re: Stewpid question, how do you delete measures?

Thanx Shoshie, that works, sorta... I get the measures out with that command but the references all stay the same (measure numbering is the same). You see, I inserted some measures @ the beginning of this sequence, and they got numbered as -4, -3 etc, Now I realise I don't need them, but when I cut ...

Re: Multichannel (surround) mixing on powerbook

Yeah, you are right about Logic's shortcomings. I got an A/B comparision when I was considering jumping to Logic 7, and DP has much more going for it in terms of surround than Logic. In terms of monitoring, AFAIK, there are no truly surround headphones -they all have some sort of 'simulation', so I ...

Re: Multichannel (surround) mixing on powerbook

Surround sound doens't really add any extra overheads per se, in terms of CPU/processing anyway. It does of course, require additional drive space -depending on your way of working that is. For example, if you track in mostly mono or stereo and then save the use of surround until your final mix-down...

Sorry Nick if I cost you anything... not my intention @ all, I just innocently went thru the sign-up process and was then able to download the pdf, thought it was good, so I passed the info on to others. I promise not to read any more of it until I pay! BTW, the ads are my favourite part, so I wasn'...
