Re: Digital Performer Vs Logic Pro X
:shake: Are you honestly trying to say that Logic users/composers are somehow inferior to DP users/composers? Based on some one random guy you knew? Especially since you don't have any experience with Logic since version 8? Are you honestly dispossessed of your wits and rationality? Based on some o...

Re: Digital Performer Vs Logic Pro X
I have both Logic X (LPX) and DP8. I like many things with DP, for instance: built-in pitch correction, audio editing in general; chunks/sequences; the multi-window approach; even the different skins. The MOTU fx plug-ins also sound great. On the other hand, I also don't understand why is everything...

Re: Korg brings the M1 to the iPad
This is very cool and to be expected. Even though I already have all of their stuff in plugin form with the full Korg Legacy collections, it's nice to have "hands on" control these synths with a tablet. I previously bought iMS-20 and iPolySix. You said you use your iPad as a sound source -...

Re: big CPU use when bpm is in logic
i really like a lot of aspects of BPM but MOTU and UVI are, in my opinion, killing it through lack of support and performance improvements. i've got some UVI soundbanks which run fine with their UVI player, so I suspect (could be wrong) that they could improve the performance of BPM. Well, I'm sure...

Re: How to Make Machfive into a Yamaha CS80
I know you said you wanted to create your own, but here are a few options where you can find the Vangelis Blade Runner pad (I take it that's what you mean, from the intro, right?): - Hollow Sun actually has a Roland VP330 library which nails it. It's only for Kontakt, though. - UVI has their String ...

Easier way to compile kits from samples?
I've got a huge library of WAV/AIFF samples from dozens of drum machines and synths, that I'd like to turn into playable BPM kits. I may be dreaming here, but is there an easier, more "automated" way of compiling a custom BPM kit, other than doing it "by hand": dragging and dropp...

Re: big CPU use when bpm is in logic
What Logic version are you folks using? For me the last stable and "worries-free" version was 9.1.1. Everything after that has been unusable - CPU spikes and general processor weirdness. I'm still on Snow Leopard.
BPM has always been a bit of a resource hog, sadly, especially in Logic. :/

Re: DP could learn from Logic - Here's how
frankf Never used Logic, but I'm curious as to how it accommodates multi output VIs like Kontakt, Mach 5, Stylus RMX etc. DP has a lot of flexibility in its Bundles system. Have you tried using a template? For regular VIs, you just insert an Instrument Track. For multi outputs, there's a tick box l...

Re: DP could learn from Logic - Here's how
MIDI Life Crisis I'm trying to frame a polite response to your insult , but all responses resolve to some form of self-fornication suggestion for you. Don't you think people can form opinions without your asking them to jump thru your hoops? Troll on! First of all, you need to chill. I've been foll...

Re: DP could learn from Logic - Here's how
Since I've been spending time in Logic, there are a few things I like so much about it, I wish MOTU would look at updating DP with some of Logic's GUI and workflow. Especially in the MIDI department. I'm starting to think that one reason I quit doing a lot of MIDI in DP is because of the interface....

Re: 828 mk3 Hybrid or Traveller mk3 Hybrid?
^ Hi, and thanks for a reply. Let's put it this way - portability is certainly a plus, and something I have to take into consideration. I've been actually leaning towards the Traveler in the mean time after I posted this thread... (And actually, my thread title is misinformed - MOTU hasn't released ...

828 mk3 Hybrid or Traveller mk3 Hybrid?
Would anyone here be interested in sharing their opinions (and/or experiences, if you're an owner) on these two, and perhaps, which one would you pick? These two interfaces seem really similar (pretty much the exact same price), but the Traveller has four preamped mic inputs instead of two on the 82...

Re: Akai CD loops tempo?
Hey I've got another silly question concerning the subject. I'm trying to create a live situation in Mainstage 2 where I'm triggering drum loops from my MIDI controller - while simultaneously playing two sounds on top of it. But here's the thing: I can't get Mach5-2 to loop a, well, loop...it only p...

Re: Akai CD loops tempo?
Actually, the corresponding programs/patches have their samples in the Sample folders, it's just that they're split into "L" and "R" versions...I don't know why, since they don't SEEM to be mono? Weird. This is the browser http://i55.tinypic.com/27z9hqs.png When I load a "pr...

Akai CD loops tempo?
I have an old AKAI sample CD (well, actually, loop CD), the Steve Gadd one, that I'd like to use in Machfive 2. But I have a problem trying to get it to tempo sync in LoopLab. Whenever I load one of the "patches" on the disc (as a single Part), LoopLab doesn't open. It only shows up if I l...
