Old PowerBook and Traveler - garbled sound?
I know I should just upgrade to a newer computer but this is for a diagnostics/tech area where I don't need a big bad computer. I've got this 1ghz Titanium PowerBook and a Traveler going FireWire and no matter what there's weird garbled sound. Cuemix also seems possessed since faders keep moving bef...

I'm also looking for the Unisyn manual. I'll take a pdf if anyone has one, but I'll also buy a hard copy if someone has one...

Unisyn hierarchy
I have the OEM version of the Korg N1 Unisyn editor for my N1 synth. There's a Help file in it that's pretty detailed but I'm really confused on the file types that you work with. You have Banks, Libraries, and Performances. As far as I can tell, a Library is just a custom file that you can store an...

Re: Playback dashes
I tried every CMD+OPT+CNTRL combo imaginable on it. No go. I guess I'll just live with it, it's not too bad anyway.

Re: Playback dashes
I looked everywhere. Can't find the setting anywhere.

Same thing in these tutorials. I guess this is just how DP2.7 is.

Re: Playback dashes
There is no dropdown there, it's only a button to change the format of the time you're seeing. I figured there's a setting elsewhere in the program. I just went through the entire interface and every single option in all the menus and I'm not finding it.

Playback dashes
I'm using an oldschool Digital Performer on OS9. I looked around and in later versions of DP you can choose whether to display dashes for the last division of the counter, like frames or ticks. Dashes seem to be on permanently in DP2.72 and I can't find the setting anywhere. I looked all over my har...

Re: Weird glitch noise due to Digital Timepiece
The tricky part is that most didn't use the DTP as a slave, but rather the master. As the master, the DTP is flawless. As a slave to Tascam or ADAT sync though, it doesn't seem quite perfect. I don't know how old the batteries are but I bought a new DTP recently and got the same thing. I pretty much...

Re: Weird glitch noise due to Digital Timepiece
As I've mentioned, this is a hardware issue, not software. It's the DTP itself. I'll have to wait until someone with both an ADAT + DTP or a DTRS machine + DTP can run a test as well to know for sure that my theory is right, but it's looking like it.

Re: Weird glitch noise due to Digital Timepiece
MOTU responded. They don't have the necessary hardware to test. They did say that the DTP takes a second to lock up when sending it MIDI, but that isn't the problem.
Hopefully someone will read this in the future that has an ADAT/DTRS and can check.

Re: Please help with sample accurate transfers using 2408 mk
I think you were talking to the OP, but I'm unclear on whether TDIF carries a wordclock signal or not. I believe it was only certain late DA-xx machines from the DA-38 up at least. My interface can't lock to it if so though (2408).

Re: Weird glitch noise due to Digital Timepiece
You drew a conclusion about the problem before you started trouble shooting, I've been testing and trouble shooting for almost two months now on and off. That's long enough to draw a conclusion I think, it's the only thing that makes sense at this point. I tested this without a computer at all beca...

Re: Weird glitch noise due to Digital Timepiece
I've got multiple systems but it's mainly the hardware that's the issue as far as the jet noise. DTP - ROM 7.2.5 324 - Rev.3 424 - unsure, but it's a PCI-X card 2408 - (2) vers a 1.1 vers b 1.2 cv 0.10 Digital Performer 2.7.2 Mac OS8.6/9.2.2 The DTP automatically grabs a stable Workdclock from an AD...

Re: Weird glitch noise due to Digital Timepiece
Just for kicks I tried something different as far as glitch noises. ADAT machine Lightpipe in/out -> 2408 ADAT machine Sync Out -> DTP ADAT Sync In DTP BNC WC Out -> 2408 324 PCI Console set to 48k and 2408 Wordclock Sync In The DTP hiccups as per usual after hitting Play on the ADAT. When monitorin...
