Re: MOTU 624 & Catalina intermittent no audio
I decided to try connecting the 624 with USB to a USB-A port, which as soon as I did it and got everything booted up reminded me that I had tried this before and it causes another issue. Because of the locality of the 624 to my mouse, using the 624 on USB causes my Apple Magic Mouse to drag to the p...

Re: MOTU 624 & Catalina intermittent no audio
I don't know that it will be any different but, unless both USB-A ports are filled, I'd just use a USB 3 cable into one of those. Both the USB-A ports are being used, I guess if I could find some long USB 3-B to USB-C cables I could move something to one of the USB-C ports and then connect the 624 ...

Re: MOTU 624 & Catalina intermittent no audio
Are you really connecting over Thunderbolt? (TB2 cable to Apple TB2–TB3 adapter to USB-C port) Why not just USB 3? It won't be any slower. Yes, Apple TB2 cable to Apple TB2-TB3 adaptor to USB-C port. Why? I already had a TB2 cable and the TB2-TB3 adaptor and presumed it would work. Which it should....

Yes, downloaded it again yesterday but have been running it since I setup the system in September last year.mikehalloran wrote: ↑Thu Apr 15, 2021 11:15 am Are you running v2.0+84544 ?

MOTU 624 & Catalina intermittent no audio
Last September my old Mac Pro died and I bought a new Mac mini i7 6 core and installed Catalina. My MOTU 624 had worked fine under Mojave on the Mac Pro (connecting to the USB 3 card in the Mac Pro). Since using it with Catalina and the Mac mini (via Thunderbolt) every so often when switching it on,...

Re: USB Hub
I didn't see where it specifically says it works with USB2 and USB 1.1 devices. When I read up on these things, I remember someone saying they had one that didn't work with keyboards and other similar slower devices. I have heard that with other makes of hubs. Another one that's been recommended to...

Re: USB Hub
Yes, they don't seem to be a consistent supplier on Amazon anywhere. I think they are a sub of London Drugs, or the local family business that runs it. Looking through Amazon UK this seems to look the same as the Certified Data hub: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Powered-SOWTECH-Charging-Transfer-Cellpho...

Re: USB Hub
I'm in the UK so lots of makes you get in the US are not available here. (Certified Data is one) That's a PITA. I've have a 10 port Certified Data power USB3 hub on my Mac Mini since January and it has been trouble free. Perhaps they sell in the UK under a different name? There are some on Amazon U...

Re: USB Hub
I am slowly gathering all the external peripherals I will need for my 2018 Mac Mini purchase, one of the things giving me a headache is a USB 3 hub. I need at least 7 ports for dongles, MIDI keys, controllers etc, so I was thinking of a 10 port but every time I narrow the makes down, someone I know ...

Thanks for the quick reply Mike, much appreciated. I thought the Apple one should be my best bet.

Thunderbolt to Thunderbolt 3 Adapter for MOTU 624
I am thinking of getting a new 2018 Mac mini and will be wanting to connect my MOTU 624 to it by Thunderbolt and will need a Thunderbolt to Thunderbolt 3 Adapter. I was thinking of either Apple or Startech. Anyone here successfully connecting a MOTU Thunderbolt audio device to a Mac with Thunderbolt...

Re: Recommendations on Metal-capable graphics card for 5.1
I have just installed a MSI RX 560 AERO ITX 4GB OC GDDR5 in my Mac Pro 4.1 (Flashed to 5.1) and upgraded to Mojave 10.14.1. It was all pretty painless and everything seems to be running fine. Both DP 9.52 and Cubase 9.5 seem to run fine. In fact Mojave boots quicker and overall feels much snappier. ...

Re: Suggestion Box for DP 10 MOTU Link
Probably too late for DP 10. That must be well past the User Requirement stage by now. But here's my long time - Make note names in the Drum Editor a preset that is a completely independent object (not linked to MIDI Devices) that can be saved and used in other projects. Please please, Drum editor ...

Re: Xeon X5680s Now Under $80
Thanks for the replies, sounds like the squashed Theta might be best for de-lidded but I imagine getting the right amount in to that shape will be tricky.
Arctic recommends the one point blob, is there a reason that would be unsuitable for de-lidded?

Re: Xeon X5680s Now Under $80
Finally decided to upgrade the CPU on my 8 core 4.1 (5.1 firmware), I have 2 de-lidded X5690 3.46Ghz + 32GB 1333Mhz ram arriving next week. I have watched various videos and read many threads, so I hopefully know what to do. But I see various opinions on the best method of applying the Arctic MX-4 t...
