buzzing in MIDI playback

I have a MIDI sequence with 3 tracks and I guess my note velocities are too high because it's causing overload on my speakers (buzzing). what is a reasonable velocity setting for notes? I wasn't expecting this of course...wonder what I've done wrong?

Re: TUTORIAL: M-Audio Axiom/Oxygen Transport Controls with D

It's been 3 years since this was originally posted, and I tried it.
I was able to set the commands in DP, but it's not working. I wonder if anyone could help me figure out why? I have an Axiom 25.

Learning DP

I've purchased and watched parts of the Macaudio DVD training, read parts of the DP Manual relevant to simple projects, searched this forum, looked at YouTube videos. What is the best way to learn DP for other users. I'm considering taking a real course, but not sure where to go. Berklee dropped the...

Record Yamaha Style in DP7

I have a Clavinova CVP 305 and want play a song in its Music Finder component, and record it using DP7. It will be a lot easier to use DP7 as a sequencer than the CVP on board sequencer. Music Finder on the Clavinova are presets of songs and you can play chords, melody, etc. Instruments choices, pad...

Change Quickscribe appearance without changing playback

Digital performer claims "In fact, the notation transcription engine used in Digital Performer has been recognized by industry experts as the best available in any music software program" I guess that might be true. But I'm still stumped on the simple process below (tried using 'normal, di...

Enable Snap to Grid?

i guess this is an easy one to answer but I can't find it in the manual...

my snap-to information window is grey-out: and when I move notes, they will only move in increments of 1 measure.

where do I enable this?

Re: a newbie's note-on problem

I checked all MIDI Events which were assigned a command, none were note-off. I also searched for note, note-off, off, MIDI, I couldn't even find an "off" listed relating to a note or MIDI word.

ideas?

Re: a newbie's note-on problem

what do you think is the best way to check to see if what you're suggesting is happening - quote "if the key command that the note off "may be" triggering is unavailable?

Re: a newbie's note-on problem

oh well, that makes sense about the img. I double checked the event list, nothing. the best way to describe it I guess, it plays through my speakers. If I lower the volume (so I won't hear it!!) in the Audio MIDI setup page, I also lose the metronome click. I am totally stumped. I didn't have this p...

Re: a newbie's note-on problem

I found an answer, sort of. I need to understand more though if you can shed some light. I noticed that the short tone on RELEASE of the note played was only playing through my computer speakers, and not through the output, my Clavinova CVP305. so I looked at the Audio MIDI setup and there were two ...
