Re: DP Gripes, and things that have (almost) pushed me to Cubase
Thank you all for your input. It seems that instability and crashes are usually symptomatic of folks with unusual plugin / VIs configs. Since so many others have no or very little instability. I too want DP to work for me. I'll be honest that I've never really put in the time to systematically troub...

Re: DP Gripes, and things that have (almost) pushed me to Cubase
Thanks for sharing Stubbsonic.
Can you tell me what were the main factors for bringing you back to DP after you'd defected to Logic.? (...Or was it just familiarity and being already quicker in DP?).

DP Gripes, and things that have (almost) pushed me to Cubase
Lately I've been grappling with the dilemma of whether or not I should leave DP (which I've been using for over 20 years) and move to Cubase. This instinct has been a culmination of many gripes about DP that to my knowledge have never been fixed. I've recently delved into Cubase and been impressed b...

Re: Ohmboyz plugins in DP 11, Apple Silicone, OS Ventura
Have you changed your Security Settings to allow certain 3rd party files to load? Many including MOTU drivers and certain plug-ins require Reduced Security . https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/mac-help/mchl768f7291/mac#:~:text=In%20the%20Recovery%20app%2C%20choose,Click%20Security%20Policy. Ohmboyz plugins in DP 11, Apple Silicone, OS Ventura
I did a completely new install of DP11.13 on my Mac Studio M2 Ultra machine running OS13.61 (Ventura). I've used Ohmboyz plugins for years and loved them. However despite installing the plugins back onto my machine and opening previous DP sessions, the Ohmboyz plugs (mostly Ohmicide) come up as disa...

Music file recognition/matching app
I have a huge bin of untitled (/unnamed) music from a client, some of which is on my own studio computer, and some not. Does anyone know if there's a software that will "listen" to the music in the bin and then find the corresponding music file (Aif) on my own hard drive? I'm basically loo...

Bouncing audio with no interface
But of a rookie question: I currently work in DP11, but this applies to any DAW. I use an Apollo Quad interface attached to my new M2 Mac Studio. I'd like to have my assistant do audio editing and bouncing of new mixes / edits on a separate MacBook Pro (also running DP), though I don't have any audi...

Migration to Mac Studio M2 Ultra
Hi all I've just turned on my new Mac Studio M2 Ultra and finally got my Apollo to work with it. Now it's installation time!... I have a million plugins and VI's, I store most of my VI libraries on Separate outboard SSD drives (in an OWC Thunderbay), and Intend to keep them there at least for the ti...

Thanks HC. Yes I'll see how it goes, and it's good that I have the options!

Re: Internal Storage, Dropbox and iCloud (and Time Machine, OneDrive and Backblaze)
Apple has a default location for your libraries. It is Users/Shared (assuming all Users have the same privileges). Library installers such as Native Access will use that path unless you give them different destinations. You can copy and paste your VIs to that directory but you want to do it in a wa...

Re: Internal Storage, Dropbox and iCloud (and Time Machine, OneDrive and Backblaze)
I'm finally setting up my new Mac 2 Studio Ultra. I got the 8TB internal drive (despite te hefty $!) with this thinking that, when I travel, I'd have a "studio in a box" and not have to also lug around my heavy OWC TB enclosure (which holds my SSD drives of VI Sample libraries). Unimaginat...

Re: Internal Storage, Dropbox and iCloud (and Time Machine, OneDrive and Backblaze)
Thanks HCMarkus. I'm curious: - which NVMe TB enclosure do you use? - Does running your DP sessions from the new Mac Studio's Internal SSD impair performance in any way (e.g. due to resource sharing with apps / OS)? In the past, back in the "spinning disk era" we were always advised to hav...

Re: Internal Storage, Dropbox and iCloud (and Time Machine, OneDrive and Backblaze)
Ok thanks Mike. The conventional wisdom used to be keep the program drive separate to your work and samples drives. Is this still the case? I ask because the hefty potential of the Mac Studio's 8TB internal drive is a tempting prospect, especially if it's so much faster than any other external drive...

Re: M2 Max and M2 Ultra Studio; M2 Ultra Mac Pro announced today
Ok thanks Mike. What you wrote is all a bit above my head to be honest!.... So if I were to opt with the M2 Ultra Mac Studio, what would be the best / fastest option for my additional work / sample drives? Would my current OWC Thunderbay (Thunderbolt 3) containing 4 Samasung (or Crucial) SSDs be a b...

Re: M2 Max and M2 Ultra Studio; M2 Ultra Mac Pro announced today
larger probably quieter fans, and some internal storage etc. IMO they're just doing it for the random UAD etc. user. By "internal storage" you mean space for PCi's right? Seems like the Pro and the Studio both have up to 8TB internal drive options. I have the Apollo but no the UAD card. A...
