Works fine here. Have not used it in a while, but for sure I have done what you are trying.

Good luck!!!

Re: PCIe 424 + Thunderbolt adapter?

Business do indeed have to make a profit. How much do you suppose they could sell a TB --> PCIe breakout box for? I would think $500 would be a fair price. Though I would really hope it is a TB to Audiowire box. That would allow people with pci/pci-x/pci-e to all buy the same product. I would buy o...

Re: PCIe 424 + Thunderbolt adapter?

In response, everyone is always telling me what this board is for. That's interesting. You mentioned tech support. Well actually this really wasn't primarily supposed to be a tech support board, but isn't that what they all become? . I think you should take that as a compliment for your site. It is...

Re: PCIe 424 + Thunderbolt adapter?

USB-audiowire

Firewire-audiowire

TB-audiowire

Any of those would make most of the pci crowd happy.

Re: PCIe 424 + Thunderbolt adapter?

Again, name one PCIe audio card that works with a TB expansion chassis. You can't. None exist. One company announced they may be able to get one of their cards to work if they can update the firmware to be compatible. That was over 6 months ago. Since then, nothing - not even an announcement at NAM...

Re: PCIe 424 + Thunderbolt adapter?

After a long wait and silence from MOTU for years now.... MOTU has admitted defeat on the thunderbolt - PCIe-424 question. (Although, still in an strategically "unofficial way"... Read on...). I am at the NAB convention 2014. First time on record, MOTU's booth has NO PCI based products on...

Re: No pci/thunderbolt = leaving Motu - open letter

It seems like the smartest thing to do is go with the model capable of running Maverick, this is 4.1 and up correct?

Re: No pci/thunderbolt = leaving Motu - open letter

I appreciate you taking the time to respond. You may have missed in my post, I would prefer a new mac mini over the trash can (unless it was free).... If you check my other posts here and elsewhere I am very positive about motu and dp. It was only this specific issue that held me back from buying th...

Re: No pci/thunderbolt = leaving Motu - open letter

Ok couple things. It only took me 5 minutes to find 6 threads on this forum alone with the same issue. This is not a coincidence. It is not a faulty card. If you read thought the links posted there is a guy who was on his third replacement card from motu. Units work fine in a G5, they pop and click ...

Re: No pci/thunderbolt = leaving Motu - open letter

Honestly if there was a thunderbolt solution I would just buy a mac mini server instead of the mac pro.

Re: No pci/thunderbolt = leaving Motu - open letter

If you do a search on this site alone there are numerous people with that issue on a mac pro. Here are 6 threads I found in 5 minutes which as far as I can tell went unresolved. At least a couple gave up on Motu all together because of the issue. http://www.motunation.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&...

Re: No pci/thunderbolt = leaving Motu - open letter

Well I knew people would get worked up, so I guess I asked for that. Now let's see if people are as willing to help. My main reason for not wanting to buy a used mac pro is simple. Last I checked, there was an issue with people getting pops and clicks using their pci cards with mac pros. I believe i...

No pci/thunderbolt = leaving Motu - open letter

Hi, I don't know of a better place to post this so here it goes. Been a long time user, heavily invested in a pci setup. Unfortunately, it seems many of us are in the same position. I am writing this in hopes that other join and motu listens. If there is no pci - thunderbolt solution I will be force...
