Re: Why I went back to DP 7.24......

Michael, I had all the problems you mentioned and went back to DP7.22 after installing DP8 and I really like that you can use the new plug ins in DP7 :) Wow, you're correct. Although I removed DP8 and went back to 7.24, the new DP8 plugins, like subkick and pattern gate are still available. I haven...

Re: Why I went back to DP 7.24......

Uninstall's easy. Just drag DP8 from your applications folder to the trash. No more dedicated uninstaller.

Re: Why I went back to DP 7.24......

Hi dix, I just imported and exported audio from DP 7.24, after installing DP8. I never deleted 7.24 from my computer, nor did I overwrite it. Don't know about Mackie control. I don't use it. The Reverse plug-in is still there. I'm not opening the file with the 7.24 option in DP8. I created a new fil...

Why I went back to DP 7.24......

I've been a MOTU user since 1985. Yes, that's right kids, 27 years. I've been waiting on pins and needles for DP8. After trying for a week to get satisfactory results from DP8, I'm going back to DP 7.24. I have a MAC Pro 12 core with 24GB RAM connected to an older MAC Pro w/ 16 GB RAM via VEPRO. I r...

Re: Processing Spikes

Thanks ironchef. I'm just disappointed a bit with DP8. I had no similar problems with 7.24.

Re: Processing Spikes

I turned memory server back on. I opened a new DP project and added one instance of Kontakt. I tried to load LASS in to Kontakt. DP crashed when I tried to load the third instrument. I repeated the process, but this time I tried to load a Symphobia patch. DP crashed on the first instrument. ????????...

Re: Processing Spikes

I was going to make a remark about falling out of my chair, but holy crap, where'd it go?

I would tell myself to :rtfmmad:

But....figure 81-18 shows Bounce to Disk under the Audio menu, when it is actually under the File Menu, which the text says. :shake:

Re: Processing Spikes

In DP8 "Audio Options" is now located under "Play and Record," instead of "General."
Wonder how many more "little" changes like that there are?

Re: Processing Spikes

Hi Ironchef_marc Turning off memory server stopped K5 from crashing. But, I didn't get rid of the pops, clicks and dropouts. I'm back to using VEPRO with DP8 on my main MAC. I still use VEPRO to connect to my other MAC anyway. I'm actually thinking about going back to 7.24. It does feel sluggish to ...

Re: DP8 and Kontakt

Sorry...bad news for the moment. I enabled the VST version of Kontakt in DP's preferences, and rescanned the VST plug-ins. The VST version of K5 failed several times, and DP rejected it. I uninstalled all of Komplete 8, including Kontakt 5, and I reinstalled, making sure that I reinstalled VST versi...

Re: DP8 and Kontakt

Hi KG,

I'm far from a Kontakt expert (or any expert for that matter). I think that you can change the number of cores used in Kontakt's Preferences under "engine."

Someone suggested today that I try to use the VST version of Kontakt in DP8.

I'm working on that now.

Cheers,
Michael

Re: DP8 and Kontakt

I had problems immediately with DP8. You can read the background here. http://www.motunation.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=51190 I've since updated my MOTU audio drivers, and installed OS 10.8. That didn't fix the problem. I spent half an hour on the phone with MOTU tech support, during which ti...

Processing Spikes

I installed DP on my Mac Pro... 12 core OS 10.6.8, and I'm rebuilding my template. I'm up to 15 instances of Kontakt and showing about 15% processing usage in the DP window. Showing very little usage spread across 12 cores. However, after I stop working for 15-20 minutes I get level spikes on the DP...
