Re: Do you use UVI Workstation?

I use UVI Workstation all the time. On Studios sessions ( DP) and shows ( Macbook running MainStage). I used to use UVI Workstation as an Apple Loop Browser too. Just find the loop , drag and drop on DP tracks. I use: Retro organs , Synth Anthology ,CP Eletric Grand ( to emulate CP-70) , Jazzistic ...

Re: Posible cause of 7.1 crashes

Is it still working fine, Phil? Maybe more people should try this. I don't have 7 so I don't have that specific problem.

Re: Is there a standalone apple loops browser?

I can't get UVI Workstation to preview or play anything but Rex loops or instruments. It will not play wav or aif or caf files at all. Bummer.

UVI Work Station 1.1.2, DP 6.03, Mac Pro with 10.5.7

I'll go to their site and see if I can download an older version.

Re: issues with pan and volume numbers not linked w/ pan pots

I don't have 7, but from what I've read this has been named the Sleepy Fader Syndrome and MOTU is aware of it and is working on a fix. To get control back you need to close the mixer and then open it back up.

So nice. I'm really looking forward to Altiverb 7.

Re: DP vs Garage Band and looping

If you work in the Tracks Overview Window, you may find it easier to just select the measures you want to loop, then OPTION-DRAG them (drag a copy) to the next measure or 8 bar section, or whatever, then do it again and again until you have the number of them that you want. I know you're not trying...

Re: Altiverb vs ProVerb

I still like the controls for Altiverb much better than the controls for Proverb, and despite over a year of whining about it on these boards, the whole L/R/C impulse selection dilemma with Proverb's factory impulses has never been satisfactorily answered for me (I assume Altiverb handles this with...

Re: Hearing Effects While Recording Vocals

I find a little reverb (and sometimes delay) in the cans helps most people sing better, actually. They become more relaxed and don't tighten up trying to make every note perfect (which sounds unmusical to me). If you give them too much (and sometimes they ask for too much), they can lose their beari...

Either do I. :) It could have even been another app I'm thinking of, though something about not being to able to save multi patches seems to come to mind. Anyway, I'll check it out. Thanks.

Do you use UVI Workstation?

I forgot all about UVI Workstation. When I switched from my ppc to a Mac Pro I neglected to install it. I'm downloading it now. I was just curious who uses it, how it works for you, and how you're using it. I'll be watching the videos they have available and that James posted. I seem to remember the...

Re: Hearing Effects While Recording Vocals

I copied this from another thread. I use this method a lot and it works great. It works with Direct Hardware Playthrough (I don't have that option) or Monitoring Through Effects.
