Re: Stemming from DP to Pro Tools and save $20,000
I'm with you on this one Many film composers still record to a separate rig, I think they are starting to switch thoughMorpheo wrote:That's nice but why would one even consider recording from one DAW to another?
Exporting .wavs is obviously the best way to go (or saving the sequence as OMF/AAF)

Stemming from DP to Pro Tools and save $20,000
I made a video how to create film score stems from Digital Performer to Pro Tools without an expensive split system (a separate Pro Tools rig). I hope you find this useful.

Re: My 1000+ track template
How difficult is it running a PC slave these days with VE Pro? Is it just as simple as Ethernet, and a few settings? Would you say it was easier to do it with a Mac slave? Thanks for nice comments. I would say without a doubt that high-end PC:s these days are MUCH more capable of running Kontakt li...

Re: DP and Pro Tools sync via MMC (scrub)
I got the sync now working with MMC via IAC bus. You have to enable the MMC and then disable "slave to external sync" in DP (which automatically switches on after enabling MMC). However, I can't still scrub the timeline in DP and have Pro Tools do the same with the video and playhead. Or n...

DP and Pro Tools sync via MMC (scrub)
Has anyone figured out how to sync DP with Pro Tools with the new ability to allow MMC via IAC in 9.01 update?

Re: Anyone slaving another computer to display movie
DP not being able to send MMC to Pro Tools (scrubbing) is a HUGE downside. I'm even considering to switching to Cubase for this reason alone. In film scoring world this is absolutely crucial. If Cubase and Logic can do it, why can't DP?

Rescoring blog
Hi guys. I've recently started a new blog called Rescored: http://rescored.blogspot.com I take scenes from my favorite movies and rescore them with my own music. All done with DP8. It's purely for fun and practising. As of posting this there are three scenes now: 1. PROMETHEUS (2012), 2. APOCALYPSE ...

Re: Weird Memory Performance while running DP8 in 32 bits
Same problem here. I'm out of memory REALLY quickly in DP 8 32-bit mode. Meter is red and everything is slow, even if I have just a few VI:s loaded.

Re: Movie Audio into DP is fantastic
Don't have DP 8, but this is actually a feature I've been waiting. I want to have movie dialogue/fx on the left channel and the temp track on right channel, and be able to turn either one on and off on my Mackie Big Knob (input track A and B), without copying ALL the reel audio to the session. Time ...

Re: Sample from upcoming Xbox Kinect game
Thanks. I actually got the idea from Alan Meyerson's post: http://www.gearslutz.com/board/6873819-post428.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. I never thought to use a 140 as the main reverb, but surprisingly I could get it to sound closer to Bricasti than I could with Alti...
