They copied the worst part from Ableton, leaving out the good stuff IMO. Clips might be useful down the road, but I miss the old looping method too. Oh well...

Re: Two master fader tracks for separate output pairs
Thanks Phil,
I feared this was the case. Guess I'll just keep the good old 2bus instead as I won't have the discipline to remember routing each new track to the aux fader. Unless you have some workflow tip to make this process quick and painless?
Thanks anyway!

Two master fader tracks for separate output pairs
Hi all, I'm constantly moving between headphones and monitors while I work, and I want to have different processing for the headphone output. So I thought about simply using a dedicated mix output just for the headphones, i.e a second master fader. DP allows you to add another master fader, but when...

Re: How to rename soundbite files?
So, while deleting the parent file obviously works, the problem is that when I import audio files into DP it reverts back to the parent file name and creates new names based on it completely disregarding the names I have chosen . Let's say the original parent name was called "papa", and I ...

Re: How to rename soundbite files?
The "Parent" is the audio file, the "off-spring" are defined regions (as you may well know). I usually define all the regions I want, and export them (i.e., export selected). Then delete the parent or the project depending on the situation. I think this is exactly how I ho about...

Re: How to rename soundbite files?
Sorry to revive this thread but I'm having a real head-scratching moment here. I've been a DP user for a few years now and never gave this much thought. Let's say I record a 5 minute long soundbite of me playing something, and then chop two 10 second parts out of that parent file. Now, I want to del...

"Sequence to Soundbite Tempo" behaviour
Hi gang, I've never been a heavy user of the Beat Detection and Conductor Track features of DP, forgive me if this question seems basic but I was a bit surprised from not being able to get it to work correctly. So I recorded two audio files, both perfectly in sync with each other. Originally the dru...

Great! thanks.
I'll give AAF a shot first and see what happens.

So what's the current AAF/OMF to PT situation?
Hi, I'm collaborating on a project with a PT user (I think PT10, need to ask) and I'd like to be able to exchange AAF or OMF files instead of bouncing everything each time, you know what I mean. It seems that this has been hit and miss over the past few years and I'd like to ask whether anyone is do...

Great. this was on my short list of stuff I was too lazy to figure out and somehow hoped they'll solve themselves. then I found out I'm missing audio files in projects...

Re: help with audio files (dis)organization
fantastic, so simple... that little check box has escaped me for years. thanks!
but does the newly created project know to use the "new" files or does it keep grabbing them from the old location? ok I'll just check and see. thanks a lot.

help with audio files (dis)organization
Hi, I've googled the forum and couldn't really find an answer. I'm in the process of going through my external HD and revisiting old projects, and I've encountered a major problem in my workflow. I'm either extremely disorganized, or just don't work properly with DP. What I do is the following: I us...

Re: Path to missing audio files?
I guess there's no other way... off to index the HD!
could the files have been erased somehow? I see the regions in the project, I would never delete them just like that. how can files disappear? ok I'll index and search, hope they're somewhere in there.
Thanks.

Re: Path to missing audio files?
You mean Soundfile Information? No, it just says "last seen as soundfile called Audio 01-03 on disk Scratch", scratch was the name of the HD in the past.bayswater wrote:Do the file paths show up in the Soundbites window?

Path to missing audio files?
Hi guys, I'm revisiting 5 year old project files and some of the audio files are missing. I know they exist somewhere on my external HD because I haven't changed it since then, but I did change computers and gave that HD a different name. Anyway I could find some of the files from memory, but others...
