Rabot
I recently tested out Omnipshere Spectrasonics stock sounds and ended up with this song. There is an electric bass and acoustic guitar in addition to the stock VIs. http://soundcloud.com/ripeart/rabot-mix Also, I made a recording of an acoustic guitar strumming through some new mics and I am curious...

Re: Bit Depth & Sample Rate thoughts?
I hoped to avoid provoking anyone's ire. Again, I understand it's been discussed a million+ times by others, and I suppose that although ultimately my motivation is "sounding good" as you put it my question is intended to address the scenarios in which one would use the maximum bit depth/s...

Re: car audio
IMO, car audio has never been something useful. The listening room is just so bad that whatever you put into it, it's gonna sound terrible so why bother throwing money at it? Unless you're into that boom boom hippy hop rappy snappy stuff, in which case any good audio system is pretty worthless... T...

Bit Depth & Sample Rate thoughts?
First of all I know that the discussion of 44.1 - 96k is beat to death all over the internets, although I couldn't find much discussion of it here (I searched), and I'm not posting to know if there is an audible difference between two otherwise identical waveforms with no DSP. I would however like t...

Oktavamod
Has anyone done business with Michael Joly at Oktavamod? If so what are you thoughts? I'm thinking of sending him my MXL 990 and Oktava MK-319s for an upgrade. They don't get any use for the obvious reason(s).
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: i7 Chip Optimization
There's a DP tips post that's floating around here somewhere. It's excellent and will probably help you with your issue.
It might be an optimization of your OS that you need, not so much DP. That's my two cents.

Re: Ext HD Multi-drive solution?
The internal RAID option is software RAID which eats CPU cycles. Best bet is to put those drives in a reliable enclosure with a hardware RAID chipset. A slightly less appealing option (due to potential driver issues, heat, and noise) is to install a hardware RAID card in your Mac and connect the dri...

Re: 828.2 & DBX 386 digital connection
No advice on this? Again, I apologize if my question is noobish however the manuals assume the audience has a knowledge of terms like word length, dither, shape, etc...
I ordered a BNC and bona fide S/PDIF cable from Sweetwater, I guess I'll find out if that all works when those arrive.

828.2 & DBX 386 digital connection
Hi, I recently (today!) received a new DBX 1066 Preamp which features a digital output. I don't understand how to connect it to my 828 digitally. I can of course connect the analog portion of it without any issues however I would like to be able to transfer audio over the SPDIF connectors. The DBX h...

Re: Advice on hooking up!
Yeah I copied that to notepad as my mission statement of the day. It actually took just a couple of hours lol.
Connecting all the outs the 828 was the way to go.

Re: Mixing Board channel/track view shifts by itself!!
As a workaround could you nest tracks into folders then de-select the folders in the mixer sidebar so you don't have to scroll the mixer?
