Re: Symphony #10, 4th Movement: New Music Produced in DP 10

I am the best guitarist in world history: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z9iLZOAjEY8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QRJT2mgL-HA I have created the only virtual version in world history of Beethoven's 9th, 4th movement and it too is the only version whatsoever that respects Beethoven's tempi. Real ...

Re: DP 10: one thing after the other

The DP plugin scanner is bonkers. It routinely fails known good actors that perform flawlessly everywhere else. Absolute truth and I told them as much, myself. I think there should be no "main" choice to be made too, as in VST2 or 3. All equal, ready to rock. Many systems, 10 DAWs on some...

Re: Audio express problems...is it me or...?

This is not a big deal. It's probably related to some piece of crap antivirus. So, uninstall completely (do not just disable as it cannot help) any 3rd party antivirus. Install MSE to replace it. If you or anyone else still needs help, type msinfo32 in the Start menu or screen. File | save on the op...

Re: CueMix, Audio Express & Routing

Connect a single cable to the S/PDIF in and out sockets. In CueMix, make Mix Bus 1 output to S/PDIF. Make sure S/PDIF (INPUT) is muted on Mix Bus one. On Mix Bus 2, mute all inputs EXCEPT S/PDIF. Set the output of this bus to Main Outs. Make sure panning is set properly (hard pans), on Mix Bus 2, fo...

Just play what you want them to hear, as is, in Protools. Problem solved.

Re: MOTU 828 mk3 Hybrid Stops working after Ableton

I'm unaware of anyone in the world the has the rate of success or actual amount of success with solving bsods online as I have, so if you post the crash dumps as advised above, it likely will do some good. In the meantime and in between time, check using CPU-Z that all memory modules are exact and c...

Re: Flat Top Waveforms in Cubase. 828mkII & 8Pre.

Sounds like input signals could be too hot (clipping occurring before introduction to MOTU) before even reaching the MOTU. Try lowering it or them before recording as a test.

Re: MOTU 828 mk3 Hybrid Stops working after Ableton

I'm guessing that you're currently having success?

Either way, the bsod crash dumps will prove very fruitful, if needed.

If problems with them persist, just copy the dumps to any other folder, then zip them, then upload to a host and paste a link.

They're in C:\Windows\Minidump folder.

Re: MOTU 828 mk3 Hybrid Stops working after Ableton

About Nord - normal? Can't say for sure but it doesn't seem like something of concern, especially since you'd probably want to be recording a lot less softer than 0 dB (average rms) to prevent any clipping anyway - so that in turn will make the trim less needed still. If levels are good, then more p...

Re: MOTU 828 mk3 Hybrid Stops working after Ableton

You're welcome. In all honestly, FW is the way to go. It is isolated bandwidth on its own bus, as opposed to how USB will share the bandwidth with other peripherals, should they exist. Still, if you have some kind of penchant to use USB, here's the generic advice which seems to help most in this reg...

Re: Thanks! & Ricoh Firewire Chip Set Compatibility???

How did anybody get the Ricoh to work with a Lenovo? I have a T510 and an 828 Mk3. The PC at present does not even show the 828 in the device manager after several installs of the drivers... Ricoh has their own IEEE 1394 port drivers, so you might try installing or using that. If that doesn't get y...

Re: MOTU 828 mk3 Hybrid Stops working after Ableton

Two things.

Do you have the (wanted) specific MOTU output set as Windows default audio device?

If so, you can check into messing about with the option that locks the driver to the program...toggle it on and off and see if either helps.

Re: MOTU 896 MK3 HYBRID AND CUBASE 5 PROBLEM

I have no affiliation with MOTU other than as a fan and user. I think it's a mistake for you to return the unit, as the drivers are absolutely pristine and well-working. Let's look elsewhere at your issue, other than the driver, as long as you're using the latest. These things will help you: 1) Upda...

Re: 2408 mk 3 not recognized in win 7 64 bit

Regarding Windows Update as the cause: Highly unlikely, but possible. My guess is no. Anyway, you'll have the most chance of success by trying a restore point from a date you know it worked well and apply it, or the following: If there are no restore points, or that didn't work, you should turn off ...
