Re: Report on audio causing Mac Pro problems

So you're booting your Mac with Windows and running Sonar or something? Ick... more power to ya I suppose. I see where Newrigel is coming from though. Some of us are just getting work done and our computers are working fine. There are other folks who just love to pore over all the forums an...

Re: Report on audio causing Mac Pro problems

I smell a bash troll! I have an answer for them if they feel it gets too hot... go return it and get a windows box and kick rocks!  That's exactly what I did--I switched to Win 7 x 64 via bootcamp and a new DAW app. My studio has cooled down, my computer performance has increased...

Re: MacPro overheating?

newrigel: If you had actually read the different posts you'd see the problems were ocurring when the posters were running OSX but not under Windows. THAT'S what's not making any sense. I didn't and don't trust them with everything they say on those forums, just as I don't necessarily trust everythi...

Re: AmpGUI7 (always updating first post)

Sorry about the sad news. It's particularly hard to lose a loved one this time of year.

My thoughts go to you and your family.

Re: The Thread

I had some one that I could not find so I paid a professional person finder to find him for me and he did. Does that make that person profound? Sure, look at Dog the Bounty Hunter--he's deeper than deep. While we're kind of on the subject of deepness, does it take a professional songwriter t...

Re: Sound on Sound - Performer Notes website

The demise of DP Notes (temporarily or not), just serves to underscore this forum as the last real bastion of independent DP support and free PR/advertising for MOTU. Just a fact--no hidden implications. An opinion, though: I find the timing disturbing on the heels of the best release (IMO) of DP in...

Re: A strange experience this evening

Sometimes heeding that gut feeling that something is "off" about a person has made me feel that I've been too judgmental. But the times when I have not heeded that feeling have generally been the times I've been burned. Trusting your instincts is not the same thing as uncharitably prejudgi...

Re: The Thread

I like this freewheeling thread, because, although it makes marginal sense at times, people don't argue and get mad at each other (well, that actually goes for the entire forum--usually  ). Whoops, I think I just went "on topic," talking about The Thread. I hope nobody gets ticked of...

The Harry Potter toy broom stick has sound and a vibrator in it, this is making quite a stir. Some mothers are shaken over it.   http://www.cultureandfamily.org/articledisplay.asp?id=753&department=CFI&categoryid=cfreport In an antimatter universe, the preference is "...

I really like Simple 1.1!

As the guy said in the old 7Up commercial: "Crisp and clean, and no caffeine."

Re: The Thread

Like a number of us in this group, I'm from the boomer generation--I mean boomer generation, man.

I do know one thing--if I ever get in a nursing home down the road, and they start piping in Green Grass, by Gary Lewis and The Playboys, they'll soon be yellow police tape surrounding the place.

Re: AmpGUI7 (always updating first post)

Honestly I'm very excited about Amplidood's "Simple" concept if the control panel is any indication. I personally think that the standard GUI wouldn't be so bad if specifically the mixing board were uncluttered and they just perhaps darkened a few things and refined some of the graphics.....
