Re: Identity theft - I'm screwed
Well, from what I've found out so far, it looks like it was caught in time. None of the charges (totaling about $3500) were actually posted yet. They were still in the pending category when the bank called me and said there was suspicious activity. That account has been closed and they are issuing ...

Re: Why should I use Digital Performer?
Because it is the most customizable DAW program on the market. I've got everything I need, set up exactly how I need it. Plus, you get the flexibility of calling up multiple mixes of the the same song, and Chunks gives you amazing power in organizing and ordering songs and sections within projects. ...

Re: Identity theft - I'm screwed
Best of luck, Phil. I've had my credit card info stolen three times, but only small purchases were made. You probably already contacted the credit bureaus and had them put a security watch on your credit histories (I forget the technical term). Then, at least no more fraudulent damage can be done to...

Re: pirates already have DP7?
As one who was in publishing most of my professional life, I've seen first hand the horrendous dent piracy puts in business. (And I'm a rather modest holder of musical copyrights myself.) The rampant trampling (ouch) of intellectual property rights sends me "to the moon, Alice..." No compr...

Watch it now. Watch it now...
Uno, dos, one, two, tres, quatro
Matty told Hatty about a thing she saw.
Had two big horns and a wooly jaw.
Wooly bully, wooly bully.
Wooly bully, wooly bully, wooly bully.

Re: Need to buy a software sampler, Please Help!
V3.5 turns off the (forget the term) extra memory allocation workaround in SL.
I hope they fix that, because I want to let Kontakt 4 marinate for a while before I buy it.

Re: The Goat Man Cometh
I've never heard a male goat called a ram, I think they might just be wrong. None of this is important, unless in some way it can put an end to the rash of bad puns that has infected this place. bb Maybe it's a ram's horn sheep we've been thinking of (you know, the one with the big gnarly horns.) T...

Yes, they're cool in So Cal. Example: in 1987 I walk into the Pacific Beach Nissan dealer. I'm looking to trade-in my 3-year old Nissan. The manager on duty says, "Why do you want to trade in that car? It's in great shape...it will take you at least 100,000 more miles." I'm thinkin' "...

But, as I recall when I lived out there, you had the pollution inspections every two years. And they love to replace catalytic convertors.MIDI Life Crisis wrote:Annual car inspections are a major ripoff. In NY it's "you need ball joints." Bastards! In CA we don't need no stinkin' annual inspections!

Re: The Thread
Back to my engrossing adventure at the dealership repair shop... The car was due for its annual Massachusetts state inspection, but they refused because there was a teeny tiny stone ding on the windshield. Called my insurance company, and they sent out a glass company guy the same day to repair it. ...

I thought there was going to be a punch line at the end, too.
My gawd, it really happened!
Well, I'm glad the damage was minimal, compared to what it could have been.
I wonder if they are going to do a remix of Ram. I'm sure you'll be first in line.

Re: best audio interface for D.P.?
I'm on an Apogee Ensemble (which I love). Bought a Steinberg MR816x (the one without the signal processing), because I was ready to go back to the PC before the pleasant surprise release of DP7 (although it works with Mac, too). As many of you may know, Yamaha is giving a U.S. $300 rebate on this un...

Re: The Thread
I went to take the car to the Subaru dealer a couple of weeks ago for regularly scheduled maintenance. The head guy comes into the waiting room and says, "Mr. OC, would you come into the shop for a minute?" And I'm thinking, " here's where they try to really stick it to me ." Low...
