I only wish I could figure out the manufacturer of the macbook pro ieee 1394 card (i think it's all one unit along with the usb and fw800 slots) so I could install a legacy driver... Any thoughts? Apple don't list their drivers for windows for the firewire and can't find a manufacturer anywhere.

OK, so it's working, but the latency is limited to pretty much 1024ms, so that kind of sucks. I thought re-installin the apple firewire drivers for windows might fix it up, but I can't find them anywhere. Ok, so I finally got Win 7, and thought I'd be all good after the terrible experience that was the Vista 64 bit firewire drivers (for the 828 mkII)... When I run the driver install it says there is software missing that the installer needs to run. Does anyone know what this would be? It also won't uninstall for apparently the same reason...
