How do you access MOTU's built-in AVB Mixer to monitor live input?

I have a MOTU Ultralite AVB. I'm using the USB output to my Macbook. Is there another way to go to an external hard drive to backup?

I have a MOTU Ultalite AVB going into MAC Sierra, using Logic 8.
I hear drums through the headphones on the MOTU, but not the guitars I’m trying to record.

How do I get more GUITAR 1 signal?
Taylor guitar preamp is turned all the way up.
MOTU is all the way up.
Is there some other settings to get more volume?

Record button is armed, but there isn't a signal coming up on Logic 8.
Core Audio is enabled.
MOTU is working. I have a mic going in and can hear through headphones.
