Re: Softube Central continually not finding licenses

Following up - it's been working fine over here. Just tried it again today and no issues.

Re: Softube Central continually not finding licenses

I haven't been having any problems with it and about a week ago, it automatically updated itself (including the helper) and seemed to work fine, but I'll be trying it again soon and see if it misbehaves. I'm on a 2019 Intel MacBook Pro running Catalina, so maybe there are some Apple Silicon-related ...

Re: I may have to upgrade to Catalina

I'll try to keep this short! My laptop died in the middle of a client graphics project and I had to replace it immediately. The best option at the time was one of the new 16" MacBook Pro models, which I did with my fingers crossed that Catalina wouldn't prevent me from getting work done. So far...

Re: MacOS App to Monitor Mid/Side recordings?

I've used this one:

Just adding another option for anybody curious about this topic. Also, it's a free plugin.

Re: A crash question

I'm on Sierra, using a Focusrite interface, but haven't run into this issue yet. But I've seen a number of audio forum posts elsewhere of people having the watchdog error in Sierra and High Sierra. I haven't looked into it, but my vague understanding of the error is that it "may" have to d...

Re: MX4 Patches

I got sidetracked with work after my post to this thread - glad it worked out! I haven't even gotten a chance to try the patches with the new DP9 version of MX4, but I'd guess that that they would sound the same as they did originally.
Also: hello back to you, mister monkey!

Re: DP9 Keeps Crashing

My initial DP9 installation worked great. Then, a few weeks later, it wouldn't get to the welcome screen before crashing. I couldn't remember if I had done any changes to the system, and Console was not pointing me in any particular direction, but I took a guess and ended up removing the Slate Digit...

Re: MX4 Patches

I just sent him an email asking if he might post them on his site again, or if he would mind them being shared. I'll post back if I get an answer. There were some good sounds in those patches (as well as the ones he did for other synths).

Re: Small Vacuum tube amp?

I have a few small amp heads, and I like them all. The most flexible one I have is the Egnater Tweaker 15-watt head. Lots of tone choices, and it seems like it's very well-made (structurally). I also have a Vox Lil Night Train, which is is mostly good for overdriven sounds. I got it cheap, and for t...

Re: Recording guitars with a Palmer cab simulator

Good luck, Jim! My main recommendation, if you're thinking of making your own ISO cab, is to not try to make it too small. Err on the side of too large. This may help avoid any of the boxy sound as well as allowing you more flexibility for mic placement (and possibly acoustic treatment, if you feel ...

Re: Recording guitars with a Palmer cab simulator

Heavy-duty steamer trunk containing a small cab and microphone. Amp head outside the trunk. Small hole drilled in the trunk for the speaker cable. A couple layers of rubber exercise mats under the trunk to help keep the bass frequencies from traveling through the floor and walls. It's a cheap iso ca...

Oddity has been 64-bit since last autumn! Go get it!
I've also had good support from GForce. It's worth contacting them.
