Re: Thinking of upgrading to MASCHINE
I own both as well, there are things I like about both. I love the sound and layering/mixer in BPM, but trying to do anything in terms of sampling, slicing, etc...isn't fun at all. Love the integration with Motu/UVI sounds. BPM has a drum synth as well, which is nice. Maschine, it's just another typ...

Re: BPM Update
I would definitely be happy if all my older UVI library got the new sexy scripted interfaces  I quite like the ones in Mach Five 3 I do miss the ability to browse and load you own audio files quickly in UVI, though you can drag them in still, a lot of those editing features are gone. I love...

Re: BPM Update
It is my understanding that the UVI libraries will become more like the scripted instruments included with Mach Five 3, so all editing will be done from the instruments themselves.
I agree though, I was excited to download the new one only to find there was a lot I couldn't do anymore.

I would imagine the rest is the x-sample content.

Re: BPM Update
It would be really cool to see some fixes to these long standing bugs, I was quite put off after installing the update to find the window clip crash...made BPM useless as a sampler for me. But I know they devs are working hard on MachFive so hopefully we see some goodies from that since they share t...

Re: Finally back!!
Man I'm still very interested in your progress on this controller. That would really take BPM to the next level.

Re: How good is the factory Library of sounds in BPM?
It's a great library and I use the sounds directly in Maschine all the time.
I'm more into the original library than the updated one for 1.5 personally.

Re: Loading UVI Sounds..
I don't have much experience with MachFive but MachFive3 looked nice at NAMM. I agree, vintage keys is one of my favorites from Motu, I wasn't too impressed with the ircam stuff personally, it's cool but I liked some of the sounds in Motu Symphonic Instrument better, but then again, I'm more of a se...

Re: Geist?
saintjoe - what do you make of reason's KONG ? piano roll sequencer, other options if you want, great sounds and very intuitive way of programming i thought. the sampler has really opened up Reason, even though its super basic. i could probably quite happily make all my stuff in reason and record (...

Re: Geist?
yeah I grew up on a boss dr5, it was my first, then a yamaha qy100, then a kawai q80, then emu command station, then roland fantom, then mpc4000, so step sequencing isn't really my thing :) that's the beauty though, plenty of choices for everyone :), I'll just use Geist inside Maschine for layering,...

Re: Geist?
yeah man lol, I feel you I will say, I came from a 4000, so depending on what you're looking for you may or may not find it with Maschine. Though I can do pretty much the same stuff on Maschine as I did with my 4000 ( my personal workflow) Maschine is NOT an mpc. So my advice, if you're set on getti...

Re: Geist?
:D indeed, I've tried quite a few, and Maschine is right there for me, of course that's personal opinion. I can sample, slice, sequence, etc, how I want to. Or I can compose something without sampling, I just dig the workflow of the sequencer and everything else. I could take some of the fx and such...

we were on the same page, I knew I wasn't alone in this thought, just different workflows I suppose.
