Re: How do you use UVI Workstation to load Ethno 1?

After moving Ethno's 2 data files to Library/Application Support/UltimateSoundBank/UVISoundBanks, UVI workstation can play the sample without problem.

For those Ethno 1 users, the solution is not bad. Hopefully some one can comment on if the Ethno 2 upgrade is worth it.

How do you use UVI Workstation to load Ethno 1?

1) I just noticed MOTU charges $179 for Ethno 1 upgrade to Ethno 2. I think the price is REALLY EXPENSIVE. Too bad I only used few samples of Ethno 1..... So is it worth to upgrade to the version 2? 2) I noticed some users said they can use UVI workstation to load Ethno1 samples. How do you do that?...

Re: increase fader to +12dB without using trim plug-in?

Thanks! I asked this, because I kind remembered recent ProTools update has this option. Since I only need to boost few dBs more than the fader's +6dB at few short movements, I will just use the trim plug-in. Originally I didn't want to use trim, because I was lazy to set one more automation. Though ...

increase fader to +12dB without using trim plug-in?

I am using DP6. Is there any way to increase fader to +12dB without using trim plug-in? I found you can only get +6dB with the fader moved to the highest position.

Any idea?

DP6, Omnisphere freeze track stops!?

Does anyone use DP6 with Omnisphere? I found sometimes "freeze the selected track" does not work. I have to restart DP, but the same problem may happen again after few minuted or few freeze the track steps.

Any idea?

Thanks! I did read that thread but it's not related to switching between them in a project.

Switch from 24bit to 32bit in a project?

I have an early project originally done in 24bit. Though there may not be advantage, I tried to switch to 32 bit, it didn't work. 32bit selection is grey and can't be selected. Why is that? Actually I tested a new simple project started as 24 bit, but I can still change it to 32 bit later. Does this...

DP document's file extension?

What is DP document's file extension? I uploaded a project file to a sever (probably linux OS), but after I downloaded it to my Mac, DP can't open the files. I guessed it has something to do with the file extension, for example Sibelius document has .sib in the end of the file name.

Any idea?

Can't change Input Monitoring Mode setting?

I am using Dp 6 with Metric Halo ULN2 now. I want to change the "Input Monitoring Mode" setting (Setup> Configure Audio System> Input Monitoring Mode>.....)to "Direct hardware playthrough", but it is on " Monitor record-enabled track through effects" mode which can't be...

Recorded in mono, stereo tracks, but mix in 4 ch. surround?

Recently I got four identical full range monitors (KH O300Ds). I am think about mixing in 4 channels surrounds for a future live performance project (with an ensemble and 4 ch. surround playback system). But most of the tracks are mono or stereo tracks, how do I mix them into 4 ch. surround in DP6? ...

Re: Mac Pro 2.26GHz 8-Core vs.2.66GHz Quad vs previous 8-Core?

Thanks! But I read some of the posts, someone said DP runs on all 8 cores. Doesn't that mean it take advantages of the extra 4 cores?

Mac Pro 2.26GHz 8-Core vs.2.66GHz Quad vs previous 8-Core?

I read some speed tests for Mac Pro 2.26GHz 8-Core, 2.66GHz Quad-Core, but mostly they used Photoshop or video software for comparisons. For the money, I can also buy a previous generation refurbished 2.8GHz 8-Core. So which one is the fastest for DP6? And which one has the best value? BTW, I wonder...

Re: The New Metric Halo ULN-8 ... better than my Traveler? :)

I have ULN2 and used to have a 828 and still have a 1296 which has not been used for years.... Metric Halo's products are WAY MUCH BETTER than MOTU. It's silly to compare them. They are not even in the same league, even Metric Halo sets their price relative low. MOTU's audio interfaces should be com...

Sync soundbites to time, but not measure and beat?

Hello, The soundbites (or sound files) always sync to measure and beat information in DP (just like all major DAWs). This works just fine normally. But if I want some or all sound files to sync to time information (for a strange project I currently have), how do I do it? Is that possible? This means...
