Lemur with DP
Hey everyone
Is there a place to set up MIDI messages so that they can control various functions of the DAW? Is it limited to OSC messages or can standard MIDI messages be used? I know Cubase has the "Generic Remote Control" and I was wondering if there was a DP equivalent.
Thanks
MOH

Re: DP 8 Is Now Shipping!
@Sergievsky Yes you could do that, but remember that only VST 3 has more than 1 MIDI port per instance. Luckily VEP comes in both flavors, VST 2 and VST 3. BUT, keep in mind that VST3 doesn't support program change messages. It's a real sore spot for people like me who use lots of program changes to...

FWIW this happens in Cubase too. I think it's a general behavior of MIDI.

Duplicating chunks. MIDI going to VEP servers lose channel#.
When duplicating chunks, MIDI channels assigned to VEP server instances lose their channel assingments in the DP tracks window. Why?
Thanks!

Thanks!

Re: Motu 24 i/o Sample Rate Auto-changing Solved
I set my default device and checked the "allow application exclusive control" option. I'm still getting unwanted sample rate changes. Any ideas?

MOTU 240mk3. Main out vol. knob not silent.
When I turn my main out volume knob all the way down I can still hear a very faint signal. Any ideas?

Re: Advantages of a Mac Pro
YMMV. I strongly dislike firewire. So much that I'm all PCIe now. For one, FW is just a flimsy connection. It's too easy to knock it out of the socket. Also, I often have problems with firewire failing to initialize...especially after a sample rate change. But for portability it can't be beat, I gue...

Yes, original HD. I set the buffer to 1024. Keep in mind that this is with no FX, just the dry tracks. Any FX processing for the live sound was done in the Studiolive. RE: Display. Yes, OK, I take that back. It seems there are various thunderbolt adapters out there.

Re: Advantages of a Mac Pro
I recently did a 1.5 hour live show where I recorded 16 channels onto my 2010 macbook pro using a Presonus Studiolive 16.4.2 (firewire). No problems. I even recorded directly onto the system HD. The macbook pro seems well suited to doing this kind of stuff-- recording, mixing, mastering. Where it fa...
