Re: Korg Nanokontrol2 Mackie Control and CueMix

Got the nanokontrol2, and it works as you say. But it is definitely limited to Mix 1 only, although that all works great (except for the screen not responding to Bank jumps). Alas, though, I am going to sell my Ultralite. The lack of flexible MIDI control for CueMix FX screens other than Mix 1 is a ...

Re: Korg Nanokontrol2 Mackie Control and CueMix

Klaus -- No, TouchOSC uses a different protocol and does not involve Audio MIDI setup stuff. MOTU added support with their latest CueMix release. Read more about it here http://hexler.net/software/touchosc and here http://www.motu.com/newsitems/wireless-control-of-cuemix-from-your-iPad/view?searchte...

Re: Korg Nanokontrol2 Mackie Control and CueMix

No worries, Klaus ... thanks for checking this. I was afraid it would only be for Mix 1. Oh well! MOTU just added support for TouchOSC, which gives you quite a lot of control on all "tabs" (input, mixes, output, reverb, channels/dynamics, etc). I didn't want to lug around an iPad, but have...

Re: Korg Nanokontrol2 Mackie Control and CueMix

Klaus -- Thanks for the quick reply. I am considering purchasing a Nanokontrol2, then. Can you please tell me what you can or cannot control in CueMix? For example, can you control volumes in the Mix tab. Also, can you control EQ for an output pair? I am trying to decide on limitations for the Nanok...

Korg Nanokontrol2 Mackie Control and CueMix

The Korg Nanokontrol2 includes a Mackie Control emulation. Has anyone tried this with CueMix for a controller?

Re: Controling CueMix Volume by MIDI?

Well, I'm happy for you. And, thats good for those that have a Mackie or Mackie emulation. I'm talking about the flexibility to support MIDI CC# commands, not Mackie emulation. That way, customers could use just about any MIDI controller on the market. Besides, Mackie only makes 1 surface these days...

Re: Controling CueMix Volume by MIDI?

Years gone by, with numerous MOTU software updates, and still no decent MIDI control support for CueMix! I have been able to hack together something that works using a Korg nanokontrol and my Ultralite, but it only works for bus mix #1, and only reliably for volume control of the first four channels...

Re: Controling CueMix Volume by MIDI?

That's exactly what I mean about CueMix FX MIDI control being inflexible and limiting: its designed for Mackie control only, so you can use some stuff like a Behringer 2000 with emulation. But even then, you can only control limited parameters (eg, not eq, compression, reverb, etc). Most current ret...

Re: Lion vs. Ultralite = White Noise!

Not seeing the problem here using an Ultralite mk3 (Firewire only, not hybrid), running under Lion 10.7.3. Have we isolated this to an Ultralite model and OS version number? Also, running along with a specific DAW? On a specific computer? For example, I used to experience this exact same problem run...

Re: Controling CueMix Volume by MIDI?

Klaus -- iTunes getting confused is not an issue for me, as I only have CueMix FX and Apple MainStage running. I am a solo performer and often need to do very quick mix adjusts while I am playing. Specifically for my setup, I would like to control CueMix FX from a single controller (a Korg nanokontr...

Re: Controling CueMix Volume by MIDI?

Well, its obvious to me after reading through this thread and struggling with getting decent MIDI control of CueMix FX, that its a major pain in the arse at best, and even after you have some success you can only control a small percentage of CueMix parameters. On the other hand, with nearly all of ...

Re: Can't get audio outs above 1&2 to work in Logic Pro 9

So, Logic's mixer shows audio on output 3? In CueMix FX software, look at your Output tab and see if you are getting signal out on the UltraLite "output Channel 3" (Analog 1, labeled Out 1). Double check to see that you are denoting channel outs correctly, this is a point of confusion for ...

Re: Controling CueMix Volume by MIDI?

Just enabling CueMix to receive and respond to MIDI control messages from the system (eg AudioMIDI Setup on Mac) in a straightforward, non-Mackie way would be a HUGE leap in flexibility. (I'm not talking about pre-made maps in DAWs for specific control surfaces, I'm talking about generalized control...

Re: why can no one help us with control surfaces?

Sorry, forgot to mention that I have had several phone and e-mail conversations with MOTU about this topic, and I still ended up feeling like the "banghead" emoticon in your post. :banghead: The only advice I can offer for those with non-Mackie controllers is trial & error experimentat...
