828 MKII Firewire she no seeha da boxa ?!?!

I also am having problems with my 828mkII. I went out and bought a new board (an ASUS M3A78-EN) with built in FW. I have read the manual and there is no indication of the chipset of the 1394 device. I have the following setup. 2408, 2408mkIII, MIDI express XT and the 828mkII. Finally after long and ...

Re: Fender "Road Worn" guitars - STUPID, STUPID, STUPID!

Worn is good only if you have worn it. As to the last post it would be great to know what are some of the best sounding LP's and/or CD's out there ? Which would you think are the sounds you would want to emulate ? Yamaha, Alesis, Mackie mixers, Cubase, Audition many more audio programs. Shure, Sennh...

Re: Fender "Road Worn" guitars - STUPID, STUPID, STUPID!

I totally agree in this "Road Worn" guitars thing. As they say "It don't mean a thing if you don't got that swing". Now having said that, I'd be really interested in hearing or reading what type of equipment people use to monitor their work on. Are some members using their headph...

Re: Download MOTU 896 mk3 manual

I think it would be a great idea that all the members using the products from MOTU start copying the downloading the to appropriate users. I, for one, am not keen at all on a company that you have either bought their product or using their interface are required to shell out $20 for a copy of their ...

Re: 2408 mk 2 and Cubase 4 Major Problem

I really think your going to be stuck with the problem as you said it's a discontinued product and MOTU won't jump through hoops for you. Have you tried another 324 card (I know that they don't come in pairs) maybe it is the driver and the card that are cooking up the issue ?

Best of luck

Re: MOTU Micro Express - Selecting Presets using patch change

I don't mind telling you that I also have read both MAC and WINDOWS manuals on the Express, MOTU 2408mkIII and the 828mkII and totally agree with your findings. Sometimes I look at all the manuals I have for the products and find it is like reading a English one then reading a french ver of the same...

Re: Anybody wanna go analog?

Man , don't you remember the days of the 2" tape MCI recorder and the big AKG box timbre echo unit and the patch bays, the MCI 72/48/8/2 Mixer direct from England. The stuff that Brian Ferry did some of those great tunes on. Made a guitar sound like it was coming inside your head. Now I'M stuck...

Re: Installing MOTU PCI-424 card

The big reason that MOTU makes you install the SW first is 1: They want to be on top when Windows starts to load its msconfig file. This file will have all the apps and drivers loaded as the Windows interface is being brought up. Now, seeing that MOTU's driver is at the top it is less likely to cras...

Re: One of those AAAAggghhh! mac help threads

From what your saying it sounds like the G5 has a power supply problem. Look at your own post from the outside looking in. If you have 6 hard drives that's a load on the powersupply. When up plugged them into the FWport you said they worked. Again the power supply. This is because it is not being a ...

Re: Download MOTU 896 mk3 manual

On their site MOTU they will send to you a copy of the manual for $20. I think this is one of the only SW and HW manufactures that do not have a .PDF file available to their users. To me it doesn't matter if you bought it new or used the company should stand by their products as others in the tech b...
