After you're done with your passes, 'Turn Takes Into Tracks'.

Re: MIDI Take Recording

Which reminds me . . . if you have a MOTU audio interface that supports a pedal (i.e. 828 series), you can also assign the command key combination New Take to the pedal in MOTU Audio Setup.

Re: MIDI Take Recording

Whatever - I think my solution is better as you don't have to stop playing to hit a keystroke - but if you really want separate takes that's up to you - it would get on my nerves to have to stop playing and search for the key command. You don't stop playing, you just hit a note on your keyboard/con...

Re: MIDI Take Recording

I haven't done this in a while, but a workaround is to assign the 'New Take' command to a MIDI event. The when you're in memory cycle record just hit the keyboard key you assigned either at the beginning or end of your section and the take will increment. Something along those lines.

Re: Split output pairs w/Ultralite?

The last version of Mainstage that I saw (a couple of years ago) did not address mono outputs directly - everything was in stereo pairs. That would be true for the Saphire also. I don't know if newer versions address mono outs directly or you use the same hard pan method to place things on mono outs...

Re: Split output pairs w/Ultralite?

In whatever DAW (or other software) you use they are assignable as mono analog outs if the software has that capability (the drivers present each output individually). In CueMix on the mix buses pan hard left or right to assign to one output (one side of the stereo pair).

Re: Questions about Soloing and freezing tracks in DP8

Select the MIDI track(s) and the corresponding Instrument track(s) and then freeze (page 135 in the User Guide). If that's not working on your system, maybe give MOTU support a call.

Re: Questions about Soloing and freezing tracks in DP8

1. I assume you're talking about the Sequence Editor. One way is to keep the Channel Strip open in a side bar or float it (my preference). Then as you select the track the Channel Strip will change with the selection and a solo button is available. Others will have different approaches, i.e. with mi...

Re: How do I uninstall a waves demo?

The individual plugs are in the Waves folder in the Applications folder. Remove the ones you don't want from there. Don't have it in front of me - I think it's /Applications/Waves/Plugins.

You might want to check with Magic Dave also. He's mentioned PC performance in a couple of older threads.

Re: Grouping MIDI Drum Tracks in DP8

I think you're looking for Multiple Merge. It depends on where you do it, but in the SE select the tracks you want and copy (cmd-c). Create a new MIDI track, select it and the cmd-opt-m to merge all the tracks you copied to the new track. You can do it in the MIDI editor also using the track selecto...

Re: Plugin Chooser: Remove As Menu Category -- How?

Right click on another category (above or below the divider line) and select 'Save as Menu Category'. 'Manufacturer' was the DP default. One of them has to be designated as the menu category.

Re: Plugin Chooser: Remove As Menu Category -- How?

You can only remove categories that are below the divider bar. When you highlight one you just press the '-' icon at the top. If you just want to delete an effect in the group, highlight it and hit the delete key.
