Re: How to adjust buffer size in the Windows version of DP8
Sounds like you're using the Windows Audio driver. If you configure the hardware driver in DP to use ASIO you will get options in the device's control panel and DP to set the buffer. If you do not have any ASIO devices/drivers installed, you can use ASIO4ALL (http://asio4all.org/) to access the WDM ...

Re: Basic questions DP8
Im ready to pull the trigger on DP8 training videos, Im just not sure which are the best. IMHO the Groove3 videos are excellent. There are also several good videos on the MOTU TV channel on YouTube. http://www.groove3.com/str/motu-training/ http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLhzlTlhATaFHU7yjDsyG...

Re: How to copy current Cuemix settings to new PC?
When you change machines, the unit will retain its settings, but you should make copies available via CueMix Configurations - Export, Import and/or save your preset to a hardware slot for recall.

Re: Ridiculously Bad Performance New Project i5 3.5ghz 16gb
In my experience sometimes ASIO4ALL performs better than the native ASIO drivers. It does some kind of blue smoke and mirrors thing with the WDM drivers. The provided drivers for the card provide both WDM and ASIO so they need to be installed. The device can be accessed in the apps either way. If yo...

Something from the knowledgebase on Parallels re firewire. Thunderbolt and FireWire storage devices are supported in Parallels Desktop 9 for Mac. Parallels Desktop 9 for Mac does not provide support for non-storage FireWire devices. Thunderbolt and FireWire devices are not supported by Parallels Des...

If it has something to do with the audio driver, you can try using the device via ASIO4ALL rather than selecting the audio device directly. I have two audio devices that have issues with their native drivers, but work fine with ASIO4ALL as a workaround.

I'd check around and see if FireWire is available in the hosted options. I know USB is, but not so sure about fw. Check Parallels etc. For FireWire options.

Can't bear to part with my Tascam FW-1884 that's integral to my work flow. But realize 64 bit is next mountain to climb and Tascam doesn't support Mac in 64 bit mode. :-( Running a Mac Pro 6 core and wonder if DP could run on Mac side and interface with FW-1884 via Windows at the same time? Boot Ca...

Re: Really basic problem I am having with DP8 / Win7
You should give MOTU tech support a call to see if they have any ideas about the copy/paste issue. I think you are saying that you don't even have the basic functionality, i.e. paste a track or bundle name? Sometimes plug UIs can have issues, but full loss is strange. I do not have that problem here...

I might not be getting this, but can't you just change the take in either the take drop down selection in the Sequence Editor or the take column in the Tracks Overview?

Re: Really basic problem I am having with DP8 / Win7
Does Windows DP have the 32/64 bit issue same as Mac DP? Yes and no. There are two separate versions of DP for Windows rather than one version with a 32 bit option. Also Windows has been 64 bit for so long (since XP) that I have yet to encounter a plug that is 32 bit only. Doesn't mean there aren't...
