Re: System Audio Recorder

Doesn’t seem to me that capturing system audio is something we should have to pay for. Once upon a time, QuickTime Pro 5/6/7 did exactly that. Then the EU decided to sue Apple citing Copyright concerns. The current versions of QT work only through the microphone unless you enable a Loopback utility...

That and the corresponding Monterey update are standard Security updates. I've already udated my wife's Macs without a problem.

Re: 2408 MKII and Audient ID22

Not nearly enough information.

You are telling us what you see but not what you are trying to do nor how you have things hooked up. Since the Audent doesn't support CoreAudio, the OS is important as well.

Re: The time has almost come..

… A couple of thoughts - it shouldn't be an issue to have Performer Lite and DP full coexisting on the same computer, and you should be able to move forward with installing DP without issue. That said, it looks like based on your logs there may be an issue with install/uninstall of the included UVI...

Re: ULTRALITE MK3 Hybrid - Sonoma 14 Issues

The cable and unit worked fine on the M2 so its not the cable. I have a USB-C to Usb-B printer cable as well and that was working fine also pre sonoma 14. Ok… Your OP stated this: Tried to wire up the unit with a USB2 cable going into a USB-C adaptor to my thunderbolt port on the side of the MBP. D...

macOS 14.5.1 beta is supposed to drop tomorrow. Even though I have some non-Kontakt issues, I’m a-gonna pass on that.

Just stab in the dark here, but maybe it's creating analysis files. It’s definitely doing that and finding beats if you have that turned on. If you have Automatic Conversions turned on, is it also converting to 32bit float? Easy to check. If you aren’t familiar with doing that, I can post screen sh...

Re: The time has almost come..

Where are you getting these older versions of PL? Note that PL will not work if you do not have a license registered to your account on MOTU.com. It’s free if you have any piece of MOTU gear or app registered, no matter how old. If you do not see a PL license, ask for one and it will usually be ther...

Re: Using Older MOTU Firewire Devices + Newer Macs / Thunderbolt 4

The Thunderbolt/USB 4 spec supports most of FireWire except for bus power. This is why it still works. You will need the Apple adapters linked in the other thread. That said, Fast USB 2 protocol handles more bandwidth and is faster than FW400, the only FireWire protocol ever used by MOTU. No one her...

Re: Using Older MOTU Firewire Devices + Newer Macs / Thunderbolt 4

Many of us have our older MOTU Audio interfaces working on our TB4 Macs. Read this recent thread.

The Apple FW–TB adapter is discontinued but I counted 82 on eBay last week.

Re: System Audio Recorder

Since I last visited this topic, there have been a few changes. The first is that Soundflower is dead and gone in Sonoma—if I'm reading the tea leaves right, this started with macOS 14.1 and finished in 14.4. In any case, my old app, Live Screen Capture from Roxio can only record through the microph...

They are getting pretty old now.
Yep. The last 828mkII was made in 2006—I bought one of those at a Guitar Center close-out sale January 2007 when the 828mk3 was announced at Winter NAMM. Damn, that was over seventeen years ago. All others are older.

I am paid through version 9 and tried to make Mixbus work for me but I couldn't get into the workflow. The transition to SSL ownership is screwed up beyond belief with email after email telling us to ignore what was previously sent—I think that I wound up with two Harrison accounts and three SSL acc...

I'm using a 43" Samsung 4K TV connected to the HDMI port of my Mac Studio and not having any issues here. I think HC Markus is using a Samsung also. Did you check to see what color profile you are using? I could be completely wrong, but I vaguely remember something about using a particular col...
