Troubleshooting Plugin Problems?

Please remind me how to open a project without plugins and then add them one by one.

I have a project that seems to kick up a MAS error while loading plugins. I'm trying to find which plug in is causing the problem.

Thanks in Advance.

Re: Audio files from DP are to slow in Pro Tools

SOLVED. When the wav files are explicitly imported from the import menu, they’re fine. When they’re imported into ProTools via drag and drop, PT tries to stretch them to fit tempo. Explicit import via menu avoids this and preserves timing integrity. Really? Even GarageBand and Performer Lite get th...

Re: DP > ProTools question.

Thanks folks! I set my tempo identical to his and drag and drop his track into a stereo pair, where it gets converted for sample rate. Then I confirm that his reference track is locked in throughout the song. We agree in advance to a sample rate and bit depth (88.2/24) but that is irrelevant to his ...

DP > ProTools question.

I'm collaborating w someone who uses ProTools. Here's how I've been file sharing, but it has some problems: 1. I'll add a bunch of tracks to his reference mp3. 2. If needed, I'll merge soundbites so they're all synced to the start time. Then, I go into "Audio Files" folder of the project a...

Re: MasterWorks Plugins Question

Thanks everyone! James has an intriguing answer that I’ll try. Otherwise I’ll just have to learn all the damn Pro Tools plug-ins, which I hear are pretty good. I went w DP originally, to minimize my learning curve, having used Performer as my MIDI studio for years. I was able to come up to speed ver...

MasterWorks Plugins Question

Hello, While I am a devout DP user, I am having to learn Pro Tools for some upcoming studio work. (Boo! Hiss!). I've grown very fond of the DP supplied plugs ins, particularly the MasterWords collection. If I install Pro Tools (Boo! Hiss!) on the same laptop I have DP installed, will I be able to ac...

External HD recommendation

Hi! I've got a 2019 16" MBP with a six core i9 processor, 16G of RAM and 1TB SSD. I'm running out of room with all the DP projects I've been doing. I have to get an external drive. What do y'all recommend as the most cost effective solution that'll be plenty fast for big DP project (up to 40 tr...

Headphone vs. Speaker output on newer MBPs

My old MacBook Pro (2011, 15" quad-core i7, 16G RAM ) was a fine old machine. One of the things I loved was, if I was not plugged into my interface and sound was coming out of the on-board speakers, I could just plug headphones into the MBP's headphone jack and after a couple seconds of recogni...

Komplete Files not Found on New Mac

Hello, Forgive me if this is a Native Instruments issue, not a DP issue. Just migrated to a new Mac (yay!). The HD has a different name, so DP is looking for the instrument plugins using an absolute path OldHDName/Applications/NI when those files are in NewHDName/Applications/NI. I can go into each ...

Re: A Quick Decision on SSD..

I had great successes with Crucial SSDs until I upgraded from 512G to a 1TGB drive. Still good, but it seems more sluggish than the smaller drives.

I find it to be quite stable (then again, I haven't had stability problems with prior releases). And I love the new features!

Re: New features for DP's next update?

Yes to bouncing multiple tracks!!!

Also, make the MIDI record just like audio record, where you can cycle record multiple takes. I know there's a different tool for this, but to do in on the Tracks window would help immensely.

Otherwise, DP has gotten almost everything I could dream of.
