According to Spectrasonics, they are going to get rid of the UVI engine. From their FAQ: Our popular Atmosphere and Trilogy instruments use a special version of the UVI engine, which Spectrasonics originally licensed from USB - not our own in-house developed S.A.G.E. technology that Stylus RMX uses....

Re: Waves Replacements
I know we tried this once before. Does anyone know of a replacement for waves doubler, De-essers, enigma, and multitap delays... I am down to just those and I can bail on waves... For waves doubler and multitap delays...check out Logic 8's new Delay Designer plug. You can pitch stuff up and down in...

I would like to know if anyone who experiences surges has experimented with Aggregate Devices in Apple's Audio/MIDI Setup app. Even if you once experimented with them and then deleted them, I'm wondering if that's enough to corrupt an open file, or DP's memory architecture. Nope. I have never used ...

Re: A competitive DP
Not orange, even just white. Imagine looking at this all day: From your recent posts, you obviously have a huge disdain for L8. Though I'm still a DP guy for the moment, L8 ain't as bad as you're making it out to be. And I use to be repelled at the thought of getting Logic. But hey this is a DP for...

Re: A personal look at Logic 8
What I've not shared is that something significant happened since yesterday which I'm not at librety to get into right now. But it is 100% DP related and has nothing to do with Logic Studio. Some of it good, some of it-- well, not so good. But all of it has been enlightening. Something significant ...

Re: A competitive DP
Few users love Logic's native plugs. DP would win over many if it were perceived as the DAW with the best plugs out of the box. DP would win over many if it establishes itself as the most stable and least buggiest DAW. This is the area I believe DP can really try to take advantage of. I've only toy...

Re: A competitive DP
So if you change those 2 parts to the lighter color or a different color, you have a two-tone effect with everything else still the dark gray. IMO that would be extremely distracting/ cluttered. Well, if you make it bright orange...yeah. But I find it very hard to edit MIDI notes with that dark bac...

Re: A competitive DP
I think that the interface could use a few tweaks, but I generally like it like it is. I've never liked the dark gray, low contrast look of the Apple Pro apps. Just thought I'd mention that in Logic 8, you can change the background in the arrange and piano roll to any color you like. Heck...you can...

Lastly: The DP/PT mixing boards are way better IMO- again, there was no need for Logic to concoct a different sort of fashion statement for that, especially when it's not as good. LoL. I concur. Perhaps in the year 2079, all DAW's mixers will look more like Logic's. :? I have Logic 8 all installed ...

Re: Crossing over to the DARK SIDE...
I'm buying Logic Studio-o-o-o-o-o-o-o! Okay, now the disclaimer. It will not replace DP. I'm not switching to Logic. The reason I'm buying it is bang for the buck. Right, that's what they all say at first. My copy of Logic Studio is on some FedEx truck right now heading towards my house. Can...
