Re: DP 7.23 and Lion recent experience

Clockworks is what you use to digitally connect and sync up all your MIDI gear. Cannot use hardware synths or sound modules without it. Ok. But is it a part of DP or a plug-in or additional software? Clockworks gets installed whenever you install MIDI drivers and software, like for the MTP-AV-USB, ...

Re: DP 7.23 and Lion recent experience

DP 7.23 runs and opens and plays a project with only audio but several chunks on my old MacBook Pro. Played around a little bit with it and seems fine. But as MOTU says it's incompatible I wouldn't dare install it on my studio computer just yet. But as soon as DP and UAD are good to go (PLAY is sup...

DP 7.23 and Lion recent experience

I put lion on an SSD along with DP7.23. Today I went to use it and DP would not even start up. Gave me the message that Clockworks was a ppc application. Hope Motu will fix this soon.

Re: MIDI patches not showing up in DP...

When that happened to me, I just started over from scratch and everything worked fine. I had 15 synths and modules to re-input. Two MTP's.

Also if you have not done it in a while, do the repair permissions and run the maintenance scripts. If none of that helps, do the combo update.

Re: MTP AV Not Showing In Audio MIDI Setup

Are you using a USB MTP or is it serial? Only USB will work. It should say on the front panel of the MTP which it is.

Re: Here we go again - log-in

Thanks for all the replies and insights. And thank you James for keeping this site going, I get so much out of being a part of what happens here. I may just give Firefox a try, or just let it fix itself. Got another weird problem on my MacPro. It gets finicky above 80 F.

Here we go again - log-in

For the past 3 weeks I have had to log in about every other day. Last time this happened, about a year ago, it went away on its own. Any ideas?http://www.motunation.com/forum/posting ... e=post&f=4#

Re: MTP AV INFO REQUIRED PLEASE???

That information and clear instructions are in the manual. Look up networking two mtp-av's. It is in the front few pages in the setup pages.

Re: Pulling hair out over "lost" Gracenotes/iTunes Classical

Not a strategy per se, but data for many cd's, especially classical and jazz, simply has not yet been uploaded. Maybe you should take the time to do so yourself.

If I you have the cd, correcting bad entries (probably mostly from pc users in a hurry) on your own seems to be the most viable course.

Re: Two MIDI Express XTs with a RS-422 cable

Check your manual. I have two networked MTP's and they work fine. But you will probably have to change some settings. I have neither the Express XT nor a manual, but if it can really be done, I'll bet it's in ghe manual, maybe under networking. God]od luck.

Did you use Motu Audio setup to program the outputs for that purpose. Sorry but I do not have the eqpt in front of me right now.

Re: Field Recording

I got a Zoom H4n for field recording. Has four channels - all I need for voice. XLR inputs, phantom power, runs on 2 rechargeable AA batteries. All I could want and all I need right now.
