Same here. My retirement came a couple years early, thanks to Covid-19. Still, we did okay.

All the links seem to take me to a download called 1.0.2.0. Not the 1.0.2.3 recommended. The installer for 1.0.2.0 won't run on my Mac. Does this software have a website?

How's the Audio to MIDI in DP? Is the Melodyne better than DP's own?

Howdy all. I'm thinking of upgrading my Digital Performer to DP 11. If you're using it now, tell me:

Does the Audio To MIDI feature work? I've heard this promise before.

How is the integration of Melodyne? Doe sit work better than DP's own pitch correction?

Re: Long time, no see

As it turned out, I had to slap a simple set-up together... an old client called and asked me to update a jingle I wrote about 20 years ago. So I borrowed an Arturia USB keyboard and fired up DP for the first time in an year... man, am I rusty! But no, I've played everything I know a hundred times o...

Re: Long time, no see

Waterstrum, that's really kind of you to say. Truth is, I feel like I used up whatever gifts I may have had. The last couple of years were really a slog, and I felt that the music wasn't as good. I was clearly missing a step in my old age. And there are no samples of guitars that sound like guitars....

Long time, no see

It's been way over a year since I dropped by here. Hope you are all doing well and enjoying the new version of DP. I did the thing I said I'd never do and retired from the music business. Archived everything I ever recorded, sold all my gear, including my guitars and amps. I haven't picked up a guit...

So long, and thanks for all the fish

It's been a terrific adventure with MOTU over the past 25 years, but my time has come to retire. I've closed Gravity Music, shut down the website, sold off most of my studio gear, and am done with music. Thanks, James, and the regulars for all the help you have provided over the decades. See ya on t...

Re: DP Control App?

How many years have we expressed on this very forum how much we want DP Control to be updated?

I don't think it's happening.

Re: MIDI crashes and hiccups

I did the same thing... spent a year cursing and spitting at DP9, and finally just moved over to Logic for a year. When DP10 came out, my mysterious and unsolvable problems went away, and I prefer DP, so I came back.

Re: ICON Platform M+

I use an Icon Platform-M control surface (didn't know there was a "+" version out). It works great with DP using the standard Mackie Control protocol... faders, solo, mute, pan pots, transport... they all work great. I haven't felt the need to do any programming. It does all I need right o...

Re: Current Monitors similiar to Event 20/20-- Need recommendations!

If you were running V1 or V2 of the 20/20s, you might look around for a used pair of 20/20bas V3s. I sold mine for $500 for the pair. I used 20/20s for years and really liked them a lot... if you're used to their flavor profile, the V3s are a significant improvement. I didn't find anything I liked b...

Re: Logic 10.5 vs DP 10.1

I'm weighing the differences between current versions of DP and Logic myself. I love DP, but it has some kind of problem with my system... two days ago I had to reinstall the OS thanks to a problem loading the most recent security update for Mojave. As soon as I did, DP starting crashing randomly ag...

I was a big fan. I'm pretty sure it was Al in an interview in EQ Magazine, that "we're all just twisting knobs until it sounds good."
