Re: Bias Peak -"Legacy" software question

Just for the record, the very latest version of DSP Quattro 5 sounds as good as BIAS Peak 7 and has more features. And looks and works a lot like Peak did.

Re: Latest version of Amplitude 5 crashing DP

The newest version of Amplitude 5 (5.7.4) seems to be fine, no crashing issues.

Re: Latest version of Amplitude 5 crashing DP

Here anyway Amplitube isn't crashing DP, but it's been jamming the cpu of projects for a while. Doesn't seem to matter what version. Waiting for a meaningful update. Same thing with The MPC software, The MPC is more likely to crash DP here, Amplitube just uses a lot of CPU, unfortunately for me I u...

Re: Latest version of Amplitude 5 crashing DP

I've not seen this but I noticed that New version 5.7.3 available shows up in the IK Project Manager. I think I'll hold off updating for right now. I have AmpliTube 5 MAX v2. The only release notes I see are Changes from version 5.7.2: Fixed a bug for TONEX Amp not correctly recalling the cabinet s...

Latest version of Amplitude 5 crashing DP

Hey gang..longitme no post. Anyway, I have a huge problem that just started after I updated to the latest version of Amplitude 5 (just this morning). Any project that includes Amplitude 5 instances crashes on close. If I try to remove even one instance of AT5 from an insert, DP crashes. If I try to ...

Re: Digital Performer 11.3 released!

I'm getting a strange behavior with 11.3 on my M1 MacBook Pro, running the latest Ventura OS. Every time I quit DP, I get this message: "Digital Performer's state has been changed by another application. Do you want to: a. "Save A Copy As' with another name b. Overwrite the current state c...

Re: MIDI Device to change patches on live stage

DP has been able to send patch changes to multiple external MIDI devices for maybe 15-18 years. It's how I set up the keyboard rigs for Michael Jackson's This Is It rehearsals. Every song in the set was a chunk in a DP file. Switch to another chunk, the patch changes would all get sent instantly. Ba...

Re: "Real bands don't use tracks"

If a band has lots of experience playing live only, and not playing to a click, etc. then that is obviously a reasonable boundary to set. I agree though, it's weird if you tell them out front that you use tracks, they should stop there. I suppose there is an almost "philosophical" differe...

Re: Ozone 11 Upgrade $129??!!!

If anyone is still wondering if Ozone 11 is worth it...they have a few new plugins that are supposedly "AI". Their new plugins are so similar to Sonible's Smart series (SmartComp2, Smart EQ, Smart Limit, SmartReverb, and SmartGate) that I'd say if you own the Sonible plugs, you don't need ...

"Real bands don't use tracks"

For the third time in two years, I've been "relieved" of my position as keyboard player in cover bands whose leaders told me, "we hate tracks, real bands don't use tracks". I was the keyboard tech/programmer for Michael Jackson's This Is It tour rehearsals. Worked as keyboard tec...

Re: NI Guitar applications

I have all of the Session products - including all the guitars and basses. They are all great. Most of the Session Guitarist libraries, and both of the bass libraries, have two "modes" - "Melodic" which allows you to play the guitar or bass just as you would any virtual instrumen...

Re: Refresher course on assigning MIDI controllers to a virtual instrument?

I've tried every routing/filter/assignment I can think of. I just can't get DP's own MIDI controller assignment to work with a VI that does not allow you to assign controllers by clicking on a knob or slider in the GUI and moving a controller on your keyboard controller. Yes, I even checked DP's Inp...

Refresher course on assigning MIDI controllers to a virtual instrument?

I've run into a "doh" kind of problem, forgive me if I sound dense..cuz sometimes I am. :D For the life of me I cannot recall how to assign MIDI controllers in DP. The steps I use: 1. Launch an instance of a VI. 2. Open its GUI window. 3. In the very lower left corner of the window, there ...

Re: More consolidation: Image-Line acquires UVI

Well I don't care who owns UVI. I would just like to see UVI address the glaring problem with Falcon and UVI Workstation..namely, there is no multi-core threading for either of those products. So no matter how many cores u have, their products can only access one of them. This causes a number of the...
