Re: Sibelius 7 and East West Sibelius Sound Set Project

Thanks, NK. The demos were impressive - and I listened to them on the Mac's speakers and then on not so well positioned monitors and they were good. Certainly in line with what I need. I then checked to see if Albion is one of the Sound Set Projects developers and unfortunately its not. At least not...

Re: Sibelius 7 and East West Sibelius Sound Set Project

Thanks, guys. I'm very much looking forward to leaving the wires and boxes for the virtual world. BDR: That is very encouraging. The things I read about Play always push me away, but I've had balky equipment and connections in the past and eventually overcame them - not without some thrashing about,...

Sibelius 7 and East West Sibelius Sound Set Project

I'm about to purchase Sibelius 7 and need a Virtual Orchestra to round out the studio. I lean towards EastWest because of the quality of the projects I've heard created with it and its general reputation. But I also see that the Sound Set Project downloads enable EW to integrate with Sibelius. Has a...

Q

Hi,

Thanks for a very informative thread. I've only worked on relatively short Qtime files. What are the "reels" your refer to and how do they facilitate work on longer projects?

Thanks

I learned about importing MIDI files by just dragging one into DP to see what would happen. But if I hadn't done that, what question would I have had to ask to be able to find the answer in the index? If I just look under "Importing" in the index ( I think the logical way to begin) I see n...

I wanted to see if the Index would help out in this situation. Not on its face. If you look under "MIDI" or "Importing" or "Exporting" or "Dragging" or "Files" there is nothing there to guide you directly to the answer. It would have been more user f...

Thanks so much for the information. I'm doing my research and I may end up just sticking with my very good hardware (Fantom XR is the main device). There's a lot to be said for "if it aint broke....."

Shooshie: Thanks for that info and the Countoff Beats lesson. I was thinking of investing in the EWSO but am put off by the Play issue for Mac Pros. I can't get a straight answer as to when the intel supported version is coming out. So, after reading your Garritan post I'm now interested in that. Ha...

That's exactly what I was looking for! Thanks for taking the time to search. I Googled it and must have missed that article or passed over it because I thought it dealt with other things.

Again, thanks.

Voice Column in Tracks

Hi, I've been reviewing the DP5 manual and have been seeing several graphics of the Tracks window that include a "Voice" column ( pg 95, Fig.5-29; pg 208, Fig. 17-13, for example) but its never described or explained in the text (at least in all the places I've looked - nothing in the Inde...

Shooshie: Thank you for that post. In an earlier iteration of my concerns, I said that the lingo in some of the manual's editing and mixing chapters was foreign to me and "thick". Like you, with respect to your controller, I found myself searching for third party sources for basic definiti...
