Re: input different MIDI channels in the same track

You can also view multiple tracks simultaneously in DP, so even though the data is in different tracks, it is all accessible from a single "graphic editor" window. This is a great feature that I wish I could understand how to make happen. Occasionally it happens randomly for me. How do I ...

MIDI Configuration, What MIDI Configuration?

So the vast majority of DP work I've done has been on MacOS but in this case I went backwards to 9.52 on an older Dell PC where I re-installed Win10 on a new SSD after the old main drive crashed a few months back. This PC has a FW400 board installed and I'm using a Presonus SL16.4.2 mixer/interface....

What would one tape to the bottom of a MBP?

Re: 828x and SSD Noise

I wish I could get images to display, wouldn't work from iCloud and now won't work from Dropbox either, what up with that? Anyway, the interface is in a four space rack case standing upright on the floor, there is a Furman M-8D and a Line 6 Relay G90 guitar wireless receiver (not powered on for the ...

828x and SSD Noise

I get noise at the output of this 828x interface that varies depending on what the computer's SSD is doing, like a type of interference. It's certainly annoying. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Is there any kind of fix? DP10 on a 2017 MBP. https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/cqllvj65m4sw80z8q3w2n...

The MIDI Human Feel

This has always been a bit of a caveat for me. I'd often started a new song recording a MIDI (typically piano) track. I'll just work to a click to maintain my momentum and keep it simple. Today however I really wanted to change that with a new song I've got that really requires more variation at a c...

Re: Preventing UAD Meter & Control Panel launching at boot?

Also reminder to self: never enable another 14 day free trial. Now every time I start DP I get a pop up to remind me that the 14 day free trial of Manley Massive Passive has expired. Thanks UAD, I knew that a month ago. UAD: the car warranty spammer of the audio world You might be able to stop that...

Re: Preventing UAD Meter & Control Panel launching at boot?

I suspect that each time you in stall a new version, this file is overwritten so it will begin auto-launching again. Cheers, George Yep, dealing with that again right now. Re: MIDI Pitch Bend / Glide

Not sure I understand what you're doing. But: Editing pitch bend in the MIDI Editor window, with the controller lane made big, I'm finding it quite easy to move the Pencil tool with the mouse of touch pad in very fine increments. Do you have the controller lane big enough to get the precision you n...

Re: MIDI Pitch Bend / Glide

I'd like to draw in a pitch bend in the MIDI editor but how do you slow down the travel, in other words, I'd like to start at -12 and go to 24 but with a mouse it's impossible to get zoned in on those numbers because it'll jump from -12 to 25 and you try to move down to 24 it'll jump to 20 or whatev...

Re: enabling direct input monitoring on 828x

This is a bit of an issue for me right now as I'm trying to setup the 828x for in-ear monitors. Using cuemix I can get direct hardware monitoring but I've had to boost the input level significantly to get the in-ear volume up. I'm concerned about my main output, I never needed to boost before and no...

Re: Creating Monitor Mixes for Live Performance

I've narrowed in on my problems some. Using sends in the mixer (ala hardware mixer style) I've adequately taken care getting my click and backing tracks into my mon mix but there's some weirdness when it comes to getting my vocals into the mon mix. My next shot will be to try creating another aux ch...
