Re: Fun With Transposing Audio
Ya beat me to it. I usually choose the option to create a new soundbite with the transposed (or stretched) audio, rather than do it through pitch automation, which seems to be what your system was defaulting to. Odd that the altered file had timing discrepancies with the original in your example. I'...

Re: Crossfade bug in DP 10 & 11
I believe this is because, when a soundbite is time-stretched, a new copy is written that includes ONLY the stretched segment. As such, there is no time-stretched data to cross fade out of. This can be avoided by stretching an area slightly longer than the specific audio required, then trimming bac...

Re: DP's way of handling Instrument tracks and MIDI
Good OP - I too have been confused on occasion as to how to add automation after a VI track (or tracks, in one way of looking at this) have been recorded. Sometimes just turning Automation Record ON in the VI track is the way to go: Hit PLAY and then just turn the onscreen plug-in knobs. But; someti...

Re: DP11 is here!
... it's not the cost, but updates for the sake of updates ... if you're sticking with DP 10 why does it have to be run in OS 11? What's wrong with 10.14? Maybe I'm out of step with the world here, but it seems to me we should pick the software we want to run, then look for the hardware and OS that...

Re: Digital Performer 4.0 key code trouble
I would suggest going with DP v. 7.24 - that seems to be a popular one with the retro-set.Nbattista wrote:When ... that'd be awesome.

Re: DP9.5 pauses during Bounce To Disk
Same here - DP 10.11 and Mojave 10.14.6, project in 24/96: bouncing to disk takes like 25 minutes for a 4 minute song!!! Now, on my other machine (DP 10.11 but running High Sierrra 10.13.6 and 24/48 projects) there is no problem at all with bouncing to disk... The problem will be most likely relate...

Re: DP9.5 pauses during Bounce To Disk
Yeah - it doesn't happen often here...but never would be better than seldom, right? Or, at least, as an intermediate step, knowing what causes this.

Re: Does DP support 'varispeed'?
I'm also curious if you could record whilst in varispeed -- as you can with tape-based varispeed-- such that recording at low/slow speed plays back high/fast, and vice versa (a la "In my Life" piano solo). Pro Tools has (or had) 1/2 speed playback, and if that includes 1/2 speed record, (...

Re: Does DP support 'varispeed'?
There are those that will disagree, but I'll say this anyway: There is varispeed now. If you 'set soundbites tempo to sequence tempo', and use the conductor track to change the sequence tempo, if the tracks are in the proper mode, we could call that varispeed. As far as having a virtual knob, it's n...

Re: Bounce to Disk (Super Wide) Finder Window Bug ?
I've been having a similar issue. When changing the format - e.g., the bit depth or the sample rate, the window shrinks, obscuring the OK button. I can press Enter on my keyboard and the bounce proceeds, but it's very annoying. I've written to MOTU about this and several other issues, but I haven't...

There was no format conversion in my case either, Mike.
