Re: Crossfade bug in DP 10 & 11

The important thing to note is that with DP versions prior to 10, and now 11, after executing the destructive plugin command NO fades appeared.

Re: Crossfade bug in DP 10 & 11

I isolated a small soundbite to illustrate the issue. It was "in the clear" of anything around it. In the second screenshot you'll notice a bit of audio that preceded the destructive plugin target. That extra bit of audio was just in the expanded view of my screenshot, and wasn't part of t...

Re: Crossfade bug in DP 10 & 11

Again, for people having a difficult time following this, I did not apply either of the fades as shown in the second screen shot. DP did it for me, and without my consent! :)

Re: Crossfade bug in DP 10 & 11

Thanks, Bayswater! Here they are. The first shot is the unprocessed audio. The second is the processed, destructive plugin (Soundtoys FilterFreak 1).

Re: Crossfade bug in DP 10 & 11

It would be good to start a support ticket on this one. Seems like a new bug they should fix quickly. Get some screen shots a good example project and get on there with MOTU support. I've got two screen shots, but I can't find the upload link here on Motunation. Please tell me where it is and I'll ...

Re: Crossfade bug in DP 10 & 11

Here's the latest wrinkle in what I believe is probably a related issue. I do a good amount of destructive plugin work on any given track. For example, I'll want a tremolo to come in just at the end of a phrase for dramatic effect. Before DP10 I would highlight the desired area, navigate to the &quo...

Re: Crossfade bug in DP 10 & 11

Aha. I guess that's what Jimmy330 is doing by manipulating the sound bite until both handles appear. My workaround is to "pull" the unstretched" audio slightly over the stretched audio. Rendering by a different name? Again, the appearance of this issue struck me as a WTF, as I'm new t...

I'm not sure what you mean by "rendered first." Please explain.

Re: Crossfade bug in DP 10 & 11

I too, have been experiencing this issue. It didn't happen until DP10. I just recently went from 9.52 to 10.13. I routinely time-stretch, and never had to deal with it until now. Maybe because the new "improved" time-stretch coding?

How is FabFilter working with DP10.11?
Anyone?

Re: Strange UAD DP problem

Hello everyone, Back from Day 1 at NAMM. I was able to speak with a UA sales person. According to him, no UA engineers were there. I mentioned the issue with Capitol Chambers and Manley Massive. He said that he hadn't heard anything, but that it was certainly worth bringing up on the UA Facebook pag...

Re: Strange UAD DP problem

I too, have noticed that same issue with Capitol Chambers. At 512k Capitol Chambers can get funky, but not always. It could be track count, but it's certainly not plugin count. I have plenty of reserve power in the UAD gas tank! Moving to 256k or 1024k and the issue goes away. I haven't had that pro...

Re: 9.5 Pitch Issue

Further conversation with Matt LaPoint from MOTU suggests a workaround for the issue: Create a new soundbite, within which the pencil tool edit can take place without affecting the succeeding audio. After merging, the edit remains intact, and the succeeding audio doesn't randomly and intermittently ...

Re: Save While Play Plea

I too, get those annoyances. But only intermittently. It can occur with an all-midi file, MIDI with audio, or audio only. Sometimes I won't hear one for days on end. The file size doesn't seem to be a factor. 9.51 appears to have mitigated the issue somewhat, but it's not completely solved. 10.10.5,...

Re: 9.5 Pitch Issue

From a conversation with MOTU at NAMM: For monophonic pitch correction, use Pure DSP Solo Vocal setting in Audio Preferences. For multi-timbral pitch and Time Stretch/Compress, use the new ZTX settings.
Hopefully this will stabilize the pitch issue, and allow full use of 9.51.
