Re: I get angry and depressed by Sound On Sound...

I frankly don't know what DP's market share is compared to other DAWs, and to the extent that I care is only spurred by my interest in the product to maintain that degree of success so that the company can continue to develop and sell it. And where I do live in LA, there does seem to be a fine conce...

Re: I get angry and depressed by Sound On Sound...

The sheer absurdity of the response doesn't make it obvious that thelonecynic is being facetious with that one? This confirms why I don't perform stand up comedy or write for tv. What I do find so unwarranted as to say almost absurd, hence my being propelled to make that response, is getting angry a...

Re: I get angry and depressed by Sound On Sound...

This thread is dumb! I've been a long time user of Opcode Vision DSP and I'll never subscribe to SOS or any of the pro audio publications because of their conspicuously intentional decision to avoid any coverage of Vision DSP, which for $50.00 is hands down the best DAW on the market, with Cakewalk ...

Re: Honest Opinion about DP Virtual Synths

That response is unduly harsh. All I've gotten from those who offered critical remarks about DP's bundled VI's is that within their scope of use and experiences, the VI's don't live up to taste. That it seemed to me that there were more folks griping about the quality and usability of those VI's tha...

Re: DP and Logic DO sound different

It's true that it's not a fair test that I'm using different plugs. But that is a point I'd like to stress as well. With the facilities built into DP and Logic, I was quite suprised that Logic had this plug that performed much better than what I've been using all along. I know that the thread is rea...

Re: DP and Logic DO sound different

I really do appreciate this thread. It got me to look at Logic a little deeper and I'd like to share my experience. Before I used Logic only to play back sequences I wrote in DP because I really liked Logic's instruments. Then from Logic I'd bounce the instruments tracks then import the audio back i...

Re: AutoTune is killing me

Well, how long does it take to train in order to produce near perfect intonation? If artists took pains undertaking this training, would we be able to sustain the jobs that we hold recording these artists at the rate at which we do currently? I remember Leila Josefowicz when she was so much younger ...

Re: Re:

All I'm saying is that it is better for consumers that Apple allow their system on non-Apple hardware. A lot of things that are "unfair" might be better for consumers. For example, we could simply nulify all patents so that companies who didn't make huge investments in R&D, could take...

Re: I•ONIX FW810S

Yes Lexicon has a history but they've been USB...that is, until now. And incorporating dbx's kick ass unclippable Type IV converter technology! You really can't clip them! You can overdrive your signal, but they'll never clip. This would make it much easier to track a drum kit and w/out plugging in ...

Re: MOTU statement misleading about new macbook.

Yeah. I find it sad that Apple is abandoning their own proprietary technology on their consumer end hardware. I was most disappointed when the iPod went from Firewire to USB2, but to release a Mac w/no Firewire bus at all? That's no way to support your own technology!

Man, why now, after I've picked up a PreSonus FireStudio?

This thing should be da bomb! I love dbx's unclippable Type IV converters (which should be on more if not all pro gear), and this baby has 8 of them!

Re: DP7 THE WISH LIST

You forgot overhauling QuickScribe and making it a complete professional scoring facility with support for music XML import/export. Give me this and I wouldn't complain about DP for a long time about features...though I reserve the right to violate this pledge at any time.

Re: Favorite Mastering Plugs?

I'm curious to know if anyone here is having real success with DP's MW plugs, meaning you are happy with the results from using them and so are your clients, whether or not they know you used the stock plugs.
