Re: 64 Bit DP

I completely understand the why 64 bit question. I work on film stuff with very large sample loads and massive projects with lots of chunks, 100's of tracks, a total of 10gbs of samples loaded spread over 4 machines and the 32 bit RAM limit is a very real issue. I think to be honest it is a fairly ...

Re: Recording and posting a Chant/Crowd chorus

I did it with just me, shifting the formant slightly, different accents, like an old lady, southern, drunk guy in the back. It took a lot of tracks to do it but it worked. I then ran it through verb to get it in the space I wanted. I learned that from a beck video talking about the song "where ...

Re: DP for Live audio processing

It can be done. I do it often. Like last week. Rocket compressor turns some heads. I'd do some test runs with the band and a full set. see what does what with latency. I have an 8 core so processor isn't too much of a problem.

Re: Regarding the LA2A Leveler

I use the La2A (la-TOO-ahh) as an effect. 1. It creates an edgy feel to the mix that adds an organic element because of its inherent instablility. I has basic low level compression uses but I have another tool for that. It finds its place in my kit as a gritty warmth effect. 2. I love pushing this o...

Re: Euphonix DP Update

I've never really gotten a full answer, so I'll ask here. How is the eucon control for MAS plugins? will it control all of DP's masterworks, fx, VI and utility plugins? How in depth is it really? can you control the masterworks EQ smoothly from it? dish the dirt guys. come on with it. Hi I can answ...

Re: DP 6:02: Stillwell Plugs Issue

In reply to my previous posting on this thread: My Rave continues. I just did a live show tonight full band acoustic guitar, violin, ect. Using the rocket compressor. I was approached by several audio guys after the show and they thought it was uad, or waves. I said it was better: it was stillwell. ...

Re: Euphonix DP Update

So..... I was tracking at 16 tracks simultaneous recording. If I were doing 90 tracks in simultaneously I would use a different control surface for sure. For mixing, on the other hand, I ended up with 86. The problems I had went away after the 6.02 update so its safe to assume my problems had nothin...

Re: Euphonix DP Update

well heres my review with a 16 channel simultaneous in with mix FX and mastering plugs live with MC control. My CPU(s0 is fine. The logic integration is not there as far as preset buttons and such but I have my own that I program in now anyway. I use it with logic and it is cool but honestly I'm loo...

I just read through the past day of postings. I can't say I have ever experienced this level of dedication to customer satisfaction and quality on a plugin. Or any other place. I'm glad to say that scott single handedly gained the upmost respect award from steve at midsummersound (me) and has starte...

Re: Placement of Bose companion 3 subwoofer

I do some acoustic engineering and I've always been taught to put it in the corner. Not shoved up in the corner but about 6'' or a foot away from the walls. That way you can move a little air on the tight frequencies while still letting the bottom boom a little. Its more about maximizing output than...
