Re: spazzing 8pre
What happens if you turn on the 8pre while it is disconnected from the computer? If the same problem occurs and it never switches into the converter mode, then it is probably malfunctioning and will need to be repaired.

The MOTU driver doesn't have any control of devices from other manufacturers.cragto wrote:1inputOutput,
Does the new driver allow you to use multiple firewire devices of different manufacture? Or are you limited to multiple Motu units?

Re: Ultralite mk3 PCM Linear or Non-linear?
Most (if not all) professional audio gear will use linear PCM A/D and D/A converters. This is true of the UltraLite mk3 and all other MOTU audio interfaces.

Re: DP with a Digidesign 003 Factory Firewire?
The 003 control surface can only be used with Pro Tools. It does not support other programs. As you know, the audio interface features of the 003 are fully compatible with other programs when you have the Core Audio driver installed.

I'd be curious to know if there's a similar problem with any other ReWire host like Logic or Pro Tools.

It sounds like the unit might be malfunctioning. Have you contacted MOTU about getting it repaired?

Re: Drivers for 828MK11 and SL 10.6.4
If the software was installed without errors, you have confirmed that both the 828mkII's FireWire ports are working properly, and you are using a known good FireWire cable, then it's likely that the computer's FireWire port is not working properly. Test with another FireWire device.

Re: Problems with 828 Mk3 Hybrid
The 828mk3 firmware updater on MOTU's website is probably for the original (FireWire only) 828mk3 model, not the 828mk3 Hybrid. Read the section in the manual about the monitor group. It sounds like you removed the main outputs from the monitor group, which would mean that they will not be attenuate...

Get the current driver installer from motu.com, and install that software. This feature works much better with the current driver version.

Re: conflict : Microbook + USB mouse !?
Try a different USB mouse. If the problem appears with one mouse but not another, then I'd be inclined to blame the first mouse. Or try connecting the MicroBook to a powered hub as MOTU suggests when power-related problems occur.

Re: Set input sensitivity on 2408 MkII in standalone
The 2408mkII has an internal jumper for each analog input that switches it between +4 dBu and -10 dBV reference levels. Take off the top cover and you'll see them behind the input jacks. There's also a jumper to enable and disable control of the main outputs' volume with the front panel knob.

Re: New Drivers : 4.0.44925 : 07/02/11 : Any Views?
It's working very well for me with various computers, and I have a few different interface models. In fact, there's new UI in the MOTU Audio Console program for synchronized multiple FireWire interfaces, and this feature now seems to work as it was intended to. It never worked very well before when ...

Offhand, all I can easily verify as changed is that the Cuemix software has a new "tuner" utility, so that you can tune instruments such as a guitar plugged into the MOTU. This feature isn't new. It was released months ago: http://www.motu.com/newsitems/download-your-free-tuner-now" ...
