First, delete these files:
/Applications/MOTU Audio Setup
/Applications/MOTU SMPTE Setup
/System/Library/Extenstions/MOTUFireWireAudio.kext
Then download the newest FireWire and USB audio driver installer from motu.com. Run the installer, restart the computer, and then try again.

Re: Ultralite Mk3, Vista, Dell XPSM1330 woes
Hey reeper (or anyone else), Is there any chance you or someone else could kindly re-upload that driver or send it to my email? I tried the link posted here but the file is deleted. I'm having trouble with my ultralite mk1 under windows XP, service pack 3, the other drivers are not recognizing the ...

Re: DP's clock source
First off, thanks for replying. I'm trying to understand but I'm not quite getting it. Are you guys saying that because the RME has its own dedicated driver (which it does) that it doesn't communicate with Core Audio, and DP would need for that to happen for DP's clock to be set to an external sour...

Re: DP's clock source
Thanks. I don't think it has anything to do with the RME settings. They are all correct in its driver and in AMS. I'm thinking it's just because it's not a MOTU interface, but I'm not sure. Whatever the case, it's working perfectly (as far as I can tell). I just don't know why I can't set the clock...

Re: Reamping w 828mkiii Hybrid
Start by resetting the 828mk3 Hybrid to its default settings. You may have unintentionally enabled an EQ or phase invert somewhere, which could cause unexpected timbre problems. Also make sure you're not creating a feedback loop through the 828mk3 Hybrid's on-board mixer or the DAW program's mixer, ...

Re: AudioMIDI Setup not playing nice w/MOTU ifcs
That menu in Audio MIDI Setup only chooses which audio stream's parameters are show in the section below it. It is not actually a parameter to be set itself. The parameter that you need to set accordingly is Default Stereo Output in the MOTU PCI Audio Setup program, and then choose PCI-424 as the de...

Re: Audio Express - One person's experience
… big knobs sound like a lot of fun to me, but not in the studio per se. In the studio (or a work space that is set up to approximate a recording studio) is exactly where most people want, need, and use a monitor controller such as a Big Knob, Central Station, Level Pilot, or console master section...

Re: Audio Express - The good, bad and very ugly... (Review)
1- Minor issue: The driver doesn't hook into the system audio so volume (and one would assume muting as well) has to be controlled from the front panel or software. All professional quality audio interfaces are like this. Look at Metric Halo or Avid interfaces. They also expect you to control the m...

Re: networking cables
You would use a continuity tester to check whether pins on one end of the cable are connected to the correct pins on the other end. Most voltmeters and multimeters have a continuity test mode where the meter will beep when the probes are shorted. I don't think there's a way to test the network ports...

Re: networking cables
It's also possible that the network port on one or the other MTP-AV is broken. You can probably find the pinout for the cable online to make sure that the cable you have is wired properly by testing continuity between the pins that are supposed to be connected.

Re: Considering Audio Express
The 8pre and the Audio Express do use the same driver, so you can easily switch between them or use them simultaneously. CueMix FX stores configurations separately for each individual interface, so connecting an Audio Express will not disturb the CueMix FX configuration of the 8pres.
