Re: DP PITCH vrs Melodyne and Antares

Have you guys used the Zplane Elastique Pitch? It does a fantastic job of pitch shifting stereo tracks and does it all in real time. I've actually picked it over Radius and Melodyne. I prefer Melodyne for day to day work as I like the ability to fix timing errors. The polyphonic pitch correction par...

Re: No Brainer? Sweetwater.

Full Compass sells more mics than anybody on the continent, because they beat retailers like Sweetwater by very large percentages on mics prices. They are the first place to check for a microphone price, no kidding. Thanks for the reminder. I just contacted my old rep, who I first bought from back ...

Turing off monitoring and Apogee Syphony?

From what I've gathered it's impossible to turn off DP's software input monitoring when using an Apogee Syphony 64/Maestro 2 system. But...in the event that I'm wrong (and in this case I'd love to wrong) I thought I'd check in. It seems odd that MOTU has only allowed this function to work with only ...

Re: Izotope RX on sale

+1 on RX2 and also a thumbs up for Tony's company (great prices) and groove3.com. I bought RX initially to restore old, noisy recordings and have yet to use it for that purpose. It's been great for the occasional odd mouth noise in a vocal track, amp hum on a jazz guitar got rack, extra drum stick c...

Re: Bounce To Disk Still Not Reliable in DP 8

Audio Hijack. Pro is nice for mixing into if you come from the mixing to another system background. I used to use an Alesis Masterlink and then switched from going digital out of my mixer back into the mixer into Peak. I then went to mixing all in the box and switched to Audio Hijack Pro until DP co...

How to route BFD 1.5's outputs for mixing in DP

I just made this tutorial for a friend of mine who is still rocking a G5, DP 5 and BFD 1. I had to relearn how to do this as I haven't even booted up BFD 1x let alone mixed with if in quite a few years. Maybe someone here will find it useful.

Re: My foray into Logic - not digging it.

OMF export works fine (I think) in Logic. Or, if you do the export track thing and don't want the effects you can choose to "reset channel strips" first, which I think you can do while having all the tracks selected in the mixer window so that can be done in one go. I'm biased though as I'...

Re: Dynamic mics

I just bought an Audix i5 and have been using it for the past week while reamping guitar tracks for a rock cd. It's been the main mike used and sounds great a little right of center. It's also worked great as a second mike combined with other dynamics on the same speaker. But, by itself it's fine. S...

Re: MacPro 2008 8-core vs. 2012 12-core

Also still loving my used '08 Mac Pro 8 core. Am toying with the idea of adding an ssd for a boot drive. But honestly that is probably more about gear acquisition syndrome than need. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD I'm an 08' 8 core user and upgraded to a 512 gb crucial SSD (under $400 at amazo...

Re: Steven Slate Drums 4 *was* completely useless in DP7

I think version 1.1 of ssd4 will fix everything as it now does disk streaming. In loading gigantic cla kits that weigh in at over 1 gig and they're only taking up around 200 mbs of actual ram.

Re: Slate Digital Black Friday iLok2 special

In my case, the ilok isn't covered u dee warranty so I'm paying for a new ilok. But, I still have to send the old one back in order to get them to put the zdt o to the new ilok. I know, very confusing, and, I may not do it as I can spend the $50 on zdt for my current spare ilok. At any rate, it's ma...

Re: Slate Digital Black Friday iLok2 special

My main ilok had recently been giving me problems so I had bought a spare. Glad I did as now all the licenses are transferred to the new one and I'm not having any more issues. But, if I want to send back the bad ilok, it's $50. The only reason for me to do that now is because that particular ilok i...

Re: Holy crap who's buying all the Slate plugins today??

I'm almost tempted to get VTM but I already have the UA tape plugs and I expect Slate to lower the price and optimize VTM in the next few months if history repeats itself,I'd say by Memorial Day or July 4th. They do make great plugs I have FG-X which I got in another sale for $99 and VCC which I al...

Re: 32 bit plug in bridge for DP 8

I just installed DP8 today and it isn't recognizing my UAD2 card. I thought the new cards were 64 bit. Hmmm.... do I need to run DP 8 in 32 bit mode? UAD does not have 32 bit plugins (yet) even though the card itself works if you're running the actual Mac OS in 64 bit. This is not the same as runni...
