Re: The DP 8.06 Bug Report Thread
Hey Bayswater, I'm using a Fastlane USB interface. I went to the MOTU website 3xs and downloaded the latest MIDI drivers available before this started happening. I kinda figured out a work around though but it still puzzles me that the Audio MIDI Set Up doesn't really work at all...at least in this ...

Re: The DP 8.06 Bug Report Thread
I've been skimming through all the comments about DP8 and haven't found anyone talking about the MIDI problem I'm having. Here goes: I'm running Mavericks and DP8.06. After installing DP8 I opened up Audio MID Setup from Mac Utilities to configure my MIDI setup as I have done many times before with ...

Re: Huge audio issues in Mavericks
How do you know it's old junk and needs to be removed? And then, how do you remove it?mikehalloran wrote:Open Console to see what isn't loading correctly. Usually it's benign; other times you will find old junk that needs to be removed.
Thanks...

Re: DP 5.11 and core 2 duo
Thanks for the info. You say DP 5 is not "officially" supported by Snow Leopard, does it run "unofficially" in a limited fashion? I'm currently running DP 5 on my Power PC G5, pre intel chip, Mac and after looking at how everything else in SL runs so much faster and smoother is i...

Re: Noises in my audio caused by mouse movement
Thanks for your input James. I'm finding out that this noise doesn't transmit into the recording process which is a huge relief! It is very annoying though and I'm sure it wasn't noticeable on my previous G5. I think you may be right about the programming aspect because it really seems to react to m...

Re: Noises in my audio caused by mouse movement
Thanks MIDILIFE! I actually use a wireless mouse but keep a wired trackball connected at all times (in the event the bluetooth connection goes out or batteries die...). I'll try the video card / dust idea, that may be the problem! I appreciate your help.

Re: Noises in my audio caused by mouse movement
Thanks for your suggestions! I will check out my video card when I log off here and let you know the results. In the event this is a ground loop, how do I get rid of that? I've read all kinds of documentation on this and there doesn't seem to be a clear answer. One thing I did notice that was differ...

Noises in my audio caused by mouse movement
Hi there. First off, I'm using a Mac G5 / 10.4.11. Running DP5.11 and I'm using a MOTU Fastlane. The problem I'm having isn't restricted to DP5, it's constant so I think it's a Mac problem. Everytime I move the mouse a noise follows it. When I move the cursor across any icon the noise swells and the...

Error codes
Can anyone tell me what an error code "ID=103" means? I recently created a new MIDI sequence and everything seemd fine until I tried opening it the next day. What I got was this message: "An error occurred while reading from the disk. The file (<filename>) was not loaded. ID=103"...

Dual Screens
It's very easy to do. All you have to do is plug in both monitors (assuming you have the ports on the back of your G4) Once they are plugged in open up your System Preferences and select monitors. From there you'll see what the choice are. Good Luck, it really makes a difference in DP to have dual m...

D50 card patches
Chucks is right. Unless Unisyn (or some other software writer) incorporates a file for external card patches on the D50, you'll have to dump the card memory into the D50's internal bank. As chucks also stated, be sure to back-up the internal memory first. What you end up with are 2 separate D50 file...

DP 5.12 vs 5.0 - the real difference is?
Thanks for the ideas MLC. It looks like there is a certain amount of reluctance from other users to go ahead with the 5.12 upgrade, I just started using DP in January and I still have a long way to go before I'll feel comfortable with it. I really just wanted to take advantage of the free upgrade in...
