Re: MIDI Express XT - Future Compatibility
I have the same box and wondering the same thing. Lots of big decisions to make. I want the new MacPro but hoping I don't have to buy all new interfaces and MIDI boxes as well.

Re: Can't MIDI learn Waves plugins?
Thanks for tips! I tried Automap earlier but that didn't work, though I'm not really an Automap expert so maybe I'm missing something. It could be a limitation with the plugin, but could Waves really have made it impossible to automate the buttons? I hope not.

Can't MIDI learn Waves plugins?
I just bought the Waves MetaFilter plugin and using it within DP, but can't get any of the darn knobs to MIDI learn. The plugin is pretty much useless unless I can control the knobs from an external device like my Novation SL MKii. Does anyone know if there's a way to set up automation within DP or ...

Whoa....I was expecting to be unimpressed, but this sounds really good! Much better than Keyscape imo, which is a little too clean for my tastes. Must... resist... the urge to purchase... *sigh*

Re: MIDI Controller Keyboard & Digital Performer
I checked with my rep at Sweetwater and apparently the Motor 61 line was announced in 2014 but never shipped. Reason unknown. Oddly they're still advertising it even it's been stalled for over a year. Not good. I guess it's back to Arturias. I'm just trying to find a quality board with good action a...

Re: MIDI Controller Keyboard & Digital Performer
I'm in the market for a new MIDI controller so thought I'd resurrect this excellent thread... Has anyone had any experience with Behringer keyboards? Their new 61 looks pretty nice. http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/Motor61 I was about to pull the trigger on the Arturia, but I don't really need...

Re: My Bloody Valentine 24 bit 96k album download
I love this band, but is there a way to preview the music before purchasing? It seems a little snooty to have any album for sale with not one single preview.
Btw, every time I hear Loveless, it transports me directly back to 1991. Such an exciting time for music that was.

Re: Is Mac Pro 2006 too old for DP8?
Hmmm, interesting. I was unaware of Apple's recommendation to leave in the 1GB of factory RAM. I can only speak from personal experience, but I have a 2006 1,1 Mac and it's been working fine WITHOUT the 2 512MB DIMMS for about 6 years now. I installed 16GB of matched pairs and this machine runs like...

Re: Is Mac Pro 2006 too old for DP8?
e-snobben... the only time I've every had click/pops issues was when I wasn't using uniform RAM in my Macs. You say you have 9GB of RAM. This immediately strikes me as a red flag because you obviously don't have matched pairs. You should be using an even assortment of matched DIMMS (from the same ma...

Re: Review of New Mac Pro
I actually make my living as a video editor and motion graphics artist, and I can tell you that people who say "lol" at FCPX don't know what they're talking about. It's very similar to a lot of Pro Tools users who say "lol" about DP. Yes, FCPX sucked when it first launched, but s...

Re: Rave: Amplesound electric guitars
I keep hoping a third party is gonna come along and create an electric guitar VI taking the best stuff from Musiclab and Amplesound and creating an electric guitar VI that does it all. Yes, exactly! They all have so much potential but fall short in so many areas. Electri6ity in particular I thought...

Re: Rave: Amplesound electric guitars
I should have prefaced by saying that I think these guitars lend themselves well to the mellow/light rock genre. I agree they aren't well suited for hard rock/metal... probably Electr6ity would be your best bet for that, although I found it really difficult to program. There's something about the Am...

Rave: Amplesound electric guitars
Amplesound has received a lot buzz for their acoustic VI guitars (and rightly so), but hardly a peep about their electric guitars. I own Electri6ity, RealLPC, RealStrat, Strawberry Evolution, etc... all of these have their strengths and weaknesses, but ultimately I've been unsatisfied with the level...

Re: Omnisphere - what have I done?
Ha... that's right Jim. Just wait until you learn how to program it. Better tell the wife you'll see her in a few months.
It's gotten to the point where I purposely avoid Omnisphere if I'm trying to finish a song, because I know it will take me off in the weeds.

Re: Amplesound acoustic guitar - wow
This is a great sounding VI, but I'm having trouble getting the keyswitch articulations (like slides and hammer-ons etc) to work in a sequence. I can play the keyswitches manually and they work, but when I add a keyswitch note such as E0 to the beginning of a bar, nothing happens to the other notes ...
