Re: New Mac Pros with PCIe424
I agree Gregg (bugscoe), it's a shame every time reliable gear gets forced into obsolescence. The 424 card was perfect for me, basically an invisible workhorse for years that did its job and I never thought about it.

Re: MOTUerror: Vector (trouble opening file)
In my case it had to do with iCloud file permissions issues, even though I don't use iCloud for anything but my address book and calendar. Logging the whole user out or using a different user that didn't have iCloud set up helped. As best as I was able to determine with MOTU tech support, the issue ...

Re: DP won't run under new User
This is an old post but I thought I'd confirm: This behavior and crash happens on my OSX 10.10 Yosemite system in DP 8 any time DP tries to access a finder window. That could be File > Open, export soundbyte, whatever. I have another user account which does not use iCloud and DP works fine on that u...

MOTUerror: Vector (trouble opening file)
I'm trying to open a DP session from a client. Double clicking on the file seemingly does nothing. File > Open or File > Load gives me this error. I try very hard not to bother this client with requests for MIDI exports or any other technical nonsense. What's happening here? Can I fix it? Could it b...

Re: Need efficiency tips for exporting properly-named region
This is Bryan's script for renaming soundbites with a variable number of velocity layers, and with the layers named 1-n incrementally. set trackName to text returned of (display dialog "Enter Soundbite Name" default answer "") set trackCount to text returned of (display dialog &q...

Re: Need efficiency tips for exporting properly-named region
This is Bryan's script for selecting soundbites and merging them. You set your cursor in front, input the number of soundbites to merge, and off it goes. set repeatAmount to text returned of (display dialog "How Many Soundbites..." default answer "") tell application "Digita...

Re: Need efficiency tips for exporting properly-named region
This is fantastic! I did not think of Applescript. It's exactly the inspiration I was looking for. Gotta love MOTU Nation. I'm going to keep replying here because it will help others in the future. The naming format requested by this company for this batch of samples (keyboards) is Mic Articulation ...

Re: Need efficiency tips for exporting properly-named region
In the absence of DP functionality that lets me retain soundbite names after merging, your solutions sound like very attractive and useful workarounds. I'd appreciate as much of this esoteric knowledge as you're willing to share, because I've never tried to script anything in DP before. I just check...

Yes, my system is similar to that, but the order is different. How do your scripts and services work?

Need efficiency tips for exporting properly-named regions
I'm sampling a bunch of instruments, so I'm editing many many thousands of soundbites. Each little audio region is named according to my naming convention and has fades on one or both sides. I need to export these thousands of audio regions to properly-named files. Exporting the soundbite does not e...

Re: Can't find zoom command in Commands window
@bayswater - Indeed, I want the tracks to zoom vertically without changing height, and I'd prefer to do that without using the mouse if possible. @magicd - My specific situation at the moment is editing many thousands of samples for new sample libraries. I need to alternately see the attacks and the...

Re: Can't find zoom command in Commands window
That's an interesting workaround, but it unfortunately doesn't help me do my editing or see MIDI more clearly in the Sequence editor.

Re: Can't find zoom command in Commands window
Yes, I know, and this zoom behaves a little differently from "Zoom in Vertically." This one does not resize the track vertically in the Sequence editor, it only zooms the waveform or MIDI without adjusting the track height. I use it all the time, and I would like to access it with the keyb...

Can't find zoom command in Commands window
The image below shows the zoom slider in the Sequence Editor. Is this specific zoom in the Commands window somewhere under a different name? I don't find this particular vertical zoom there, which zooms the waveform or note grid without changing the height of the tracks. I'd love to adjust this with...
