Re: Looking for a new large video display/monitor
So I've recently done exactly the same as you. (Been working with 2 apple 30 inch monitors.) I upgraded graphics card (to radeon r9 280x) bought 2 samsung widescreen 34 inches (curved), use one of the 30 inches as a 3rd monitor (VI's, screen sharing to PC for VE Pro), and output the movies to my 75 ...

Re: DP 9.13 available
We too, use many many auxes in our scoring template. Have to. At least until someone shows us an alternate way to get all the subs we need for stems etc. Any ideas? And would someone be kind enough to sum up why using lots of auxes is bad in one or two sentences. It would be appreciated as I am in ...

Changing MIDI track creates Huge stutters
i've moved to 9.13 recently, and it has many pros and cons. But one of the big issues I"m having, which I've never had before, is that when changing between MIDI tracks - record-enabling a different one - in the middle of playing, DP grinds to a shuddering halt. Clicks/pops, etc, for about 20 s...

Re: Mac CPU upgrade - more cores or higher clock speed?
I've tried disabling the unused aux tracks but haven't seen any significant improvement, so I'm not sure if that's really accomplishing anything. pretty sure disabling doesn't do anything. you need to get rid of the number of auxes and NUMBER of tracks. I'm sure someone will chime in that knows mor...

Re: Mac CPU upgrade - more cores or higher clock speed?
I have the same machine and am often running against the wall in DP, all versions. I probably run more audio tracks and a ton of plug-ins but it seems that it's the auxes that slow down my system. And by that I mean routing all tracks to an aux, and then sending that aux track to another aux to be ...

Re: Do Aux tracks provide any ...
Adding a ton of auxes, in order to use every instrument to their own stereo channel, has created huge headaches for us. DP just fades away (YMMV) when we added around 200 stereo auxes. It just couldn't cope. When we whittled it down to about 40 stereos it was a lot happier. That's not say you will ...

Re: SSD On Boot Drive
We switched to SSD's for boot drive (which also has a few sample streaming libraries on it) and SSD's for the actual projects (including recording audio).
The difference is mind-boggling.

Re: VEP-6 Reloads Template Before Bouncing?
Yep. At least it definitely does with freezing, don't know about bouncing.
It's a right royal Pain In The Neck
It does the equivalent of re-starting the audio system, as it re-assigns all the outputs to various auxes for the freeze - it can take an age to do with bigger templates.

Re: VEP5 Server Autoloading At -inf and Hard Left Pan
WOW. I thought I was the only one with this issue. Was on DP 8.07 and VE Pro 5. It started happening with various projects (mostly in soundtracks with multiple dp sequences written over a long period of time, as the score got bigger and bigger.) We would relaod VE Pro and that was fine. As soon as D...
