Re: yosemite from 10.6.8?
I made a point of apologizing, recognizing the issue, which I didn't have to. If someone had earlier pointed me to such a confirmation instead of suggesting I email MOTU myself, the conversation would have been done. That didn't happen, so be it. I quoted the email here to ensure at least that anyon...

Re: yosemite from 10.6.8?
Just got my email from Dave Roberts, in which he says, "DP9 is expected to be ready for release within the next month or so. I can confirm that anyone who purchases DP8 this year is entitled to the DP9 upgrade for no additional charge." So that's great news. And FYI I was a bit silly and d...

Re: yosemite from 10.6.8?
I hadn't wanted to pay for 8 now because it came out so long ago. I upgraded to 7 when it was already somewhat old, but just too early to have 8 be free, and now I'm in the boat I'm in. I couldn't find anything confirming that 9 would be free if upgrading to 8 now. Can you point me somewhere that su...

Re: yosemite from 10.6.8?
Seems a good thread to ask this, since I'm having trouble finding answers elsewhere -- thoughts on DP 7.24 on Yosemite? I know it's technically not supported. I've been on OS 10.8.5 for a couple of years and everything I have has worked fine. Upgrading to Yosemite would be nice for various reasons, ...

Fermata and other notation symbols in QuickScribe?
Is it possible to add a fermata in QuickScribe? How about other notation symbols beyond chord symbols, the "arrangement" symbols (D.C., Fine, endings, etc.) or the various things DP does automatically?
I'm using DP 7.24.

Re: Where to sell used keyboards?
I know so little about the keyboard market, I provided the links in case anyone thought that particular things might sell better at particular places. I'm not asking anyone to buy. I haven't posted at Craigslist, Amazon, eBay, or anywhere else I could put up an ad, not yet, because I'm honestly aski...

Where to sell used keyboards?
I have three keyboards -- a digital piano, a MIDI controller, and a synthesizer -- that I'd like to sell before I get a new one I have my eye on, and I have absolutely no idea what's the best way/place to sell them. Any advice would be appreciated. I'm in New York State if that would make any differ...

Re: L.A.M.E 3.98.4?
My little LAME 3.98.4 saga is lame, indeed. I was running DP 5.13 under Tiger and using LAME 3.97, which I'd gotten from kjams.com as a Mac installer that put the framework and a QuickTime component where they needed to be. MP3 creation with DP was always very simple with this via the Bounce functio...

Re: Advice on upgrading virtual instruments / Kontakt / Komp
Thanks for the thoughts. Interesting stuff.
The Kontakt upgrade actually comes with Studio Drummer and a small number of the Komplete effects. But nowhere near as much as Komplete itself. Komplete is tempting...!

Re: Advice on upgrading virtual instruments / Kontakt / Komp
Sorry if I wasn't clear that my only NI product is Kontakt. I appreciate the suggestions. For me, somehow ending up with Kontakt 5 is a given, and it's just a question of what I put any additional money toward and making sure that it's as well spent as possible. That may mean Komplete 8 encompassing...

Re: Advice on upgrading virtual instruments / Kontakt / Komp
Not sure I understand your math. Upgrading a lower version of Kontakt to Kontakt 5 is $119. Crossgrading any version of Kontakt to Komplete 8 is $399. Upgrading a lower version of Komplete to Komplete $8 is $229, which certainly is less than $399 by a good amount, but it only counts if you have Komp...

Re: Advice on upgrading virtual instruments / Kontakt / Komp
Meaning try to find a really cheap version of Komplete 2 and then upgrade? Looks like the upgrade from Komplete 2-7 is $229. Unless a version of Komplete 2 could be found for less than $170, then it's cheaper (and easier) just to upgrade to Komplete 8 direct from Kontakt. I've gotten a strong argume...

Advice on upgrading virtual instruments / Kontakt / Komplete
I've been running DP 5.13 with Kontakt 3 on OS 10.4.11 for a while and am now considering upgrading the OS along with the apps. DP 7 is a given. I'm both tied enough to and pleased enough with my many Kontakt libraries that I feel it important to stick with Kontakt, and I just got an email yesterday...
