Re: DP Gripes, and things that have (almost) pushed me to Cubase
(take half the plugins out of the Components folder and see if the error happens, then the other half etc), but if you are getting the error on launch it wouldn't take too long to isolate the problem plugin using that method. That's a terrific idea. Much better then F*&ing with the plugin mangl...

Re: DP Gripes, and things that have (almost) pushed me to Cubase
Thanks. I check the effect performance window frequently and it doesn’t tell me anything new.l and the meters rarely get above half especially on my hackintosh. I’d rather favor VST3 to future proof over VST2 and I’m choosing it because. DP is giving me a MAS AU error dialog (all the time). Next wee...

Re: DP Gripes, and things that have (almost) pushed me to Cubase
What’s this I hear about VSTs being more efficient than Audio Unit plug-ins? Is there any reason for me to switch Hi. No, I wouldn't if DP is working properly for you. I keep getting these "MAS AU error bla bla get class info" dialogs and crashes so O decided to go w/VST3 as much as possi...

Re: DP Gripes, and things that have (almost) pushed me to Cubase
Holy crp, pencilina, I can tell you like DP so I’m sorry, but if I had a fraction of the issues you describe I’d have moved on to another DAW yesterday. Thanks and I wish I had your good sense! I should remind myself that I hated DP at first after switching from Studio Vision Pro and PT for years. ...

Re: DP Gripes, and things that have (almost) pushed me to Cubase
I'm total agreement with the OP and am just about at wit's end with DP. I've used DP since 1998. In the last couple years I've been brutalized by DP's instability. It's horrible. I probably spend 25% of my time with DP troubleshooting (and this was after my fiasco of trying to migrate to widows). Mo...

Re: Major studio upgrade question please
You might want to consider an RME. They make some wonderful sounding interfaces, provide great support as well as very stable drivers and software. I picked up a used FF802 (it has usb) recently and couldn't be happier with it and my 15+ year old FF800 is still working perfectly. Also, it's worth no...

Re: 11.22 suddenly doesn't record audio
You've narrowed the issue down to the interface, it's audio drivers and settings. I'd check the settings in your interface's control panels, re-install the UA drivers and hit up UA or a UA HW forum if you're still flummoxed.

Re: What are your favorite reverb plugins?
I'm LOVING Fog Convolver 2. It does so much. It's great to take a mono convolution like a spring IR and feed it into a quick wide IR. Also, I've found the FC2's mic models incredibly useful for fast tone shaping especially on good mics with a flat broad response (414s for example). I got it a few we...

Re: As Harrison Disappears up the SSL Orifice ...
I don't remember the process a few months ago but I was able to get my plugins re-registered and working. I think I had to read the instructions a couple times.

Re: DP12 release date?
Mostly what we can do is report issues with a plugin to MOTU, that actually helps, although there are ten other DAWs with larger user bases now, that's not really an issue, I could say without a doubt that's because every person writing music now owns at least one DAW. 20 years ago that wasn't the ...

Re: DP12 release date?
On the MBP or the Hackintosh? Bitwig is a special case. They've devoted much of their effort to crashiness since day one. Hackintosh? Both are equally problematic with DP. Sometimes AUs (vs VST 2/3s) will work better on one system and worse on the other. I like that BW complains but doesn't crash. ...

Re: DP12 release date?
IMO the biggest problem isn't DPs compatibility with Sonoma etc. it's third party plugins. I have a few that I use all the time that are long in the tooth, and are always responsible for crashes in DP. I mean that's a potential risk releasing a paid upgrade when common plugins that end users are us...

Fog Convolver $39
I got super frustrated with proverb not opening most my IR collection and was looking for an alternative to IR-L and found this. Its an amazing beast of verb and toneshaper and it seems to be on sale. Fog Convolver $39 https://www.audiothing.net/effects/fog-convolver/ (and I just noticed it was post...
