Geez... Why does so much of this UI histrionics remind me of when Keri Russell cut her hair on "Felicity?" Did it really wreck the show? Someone define "self-fulfilling diminution" for me. Second thought, don't. I just want to voice my support of the new DP UI trend before leavin...

I don't know, guys. I prefer the new UI, particularly the Track Overview and the tabbed menus. The white doesn't bug me at all. Like I wrote in another thread, word processing apps have been predominantly white screen for years. And, once I pulled the "AU bundle switch" trick, all of my VI...

I hope I come off as the MOTU apologist or general contrarian, but the new white does not bother my eyes a bit. In fact, I'm not sure than light gray isn't as fatiguing over time as white is. Don't most if not all word processing apps feature white backgrounds? People have spent hours in front of th...

Re: ProVerb

How does the ProVerb compare to AltiVerb? My early take: Altiverb has a greater representation of real space-depth to my ears. It excels at those subtleties. It also offers more control. ProVerb, on the other hand, has a really nice lushness to it. And its simplicity is probably its virtue. If you ...

I agree. Although they won't supplant Altiverb and UAD-1 LA2A for me, they will supplement them very nicely. I like the new plugins quite a bit.

How many tracks are you able view at once in the mixer without having it bog down? Have you tried 48+ or 96+? No, not that many. So far, fewer than 20 rendered files. I've yet to put it to the stress test. If you have an old project with a bunch of tracks open that bad boy up select all the track f...

In my experience, the Dynaudios are excellent. Sub optional, but highly recommended. I always liked the Tannoy concentrics for their midrange representation and the way they translate to other monitors, but they seem to have fallen from favor somewhat as of late. Although ADAMs seem to be very popu...

Be careful what one wishes for. Hey, I feel bad for the way the guy who designed that mockup was treated here. He put that idea together as sheer talking point and half the regulars here jumped down his throat with claims of heresy and perversion. I was happy to see someone show initiative and put ...

Here's betting that MOTU will be as responsive on this issue as they are on all others, meaning... non. I'd assert it's not really as much of an "issue" as it is "new version drama." Sometimes people get skewed expectations. Is the hubbub this big number release any more hysteri...

I don't want my DAW to be a painting, I want it to be the wall where I hang my paintings. Nicely put. I am a graphic designer for a living. I don't find anything particularly objectionable about DP new UI. I think it's a move in the right direction. I have a few personal preferences that differ sli...
